I hate to say it but this. Mumei has the best design of Council IMO, and that's practically carrying her streams.
I mean, there's nothing wrong with that, you could say the same of Gura most of the time. But she really hasn't found her stride yet and she appears too busy to experiment to find it. Myth had the time to experiment and find the niches they were best at despite thinking they were going to be some other type of vtuber (Remember when Calli was going to be a full-time music vtuber? That was a long time ago, wasn't it?), but Council aside from Kronii and Sana haven't had the time to experiment and let their true colors shine. Mumei especially who just seems content on being the occasional minecraft stream.

It's unclear yet if that applies to the west, but having good merch and selling merch does matter a lot in term of money and spreading the brand.

Here is the thing about the middle ages people forget. The reason people were always "hungry" is because of Christian Fast days. Christians at the time adhered to a Wednesday, Friday and sometimes Saturday fast depending on how pious the person was. The reason Winter is attributed to people being hungry is because there was a Christmas and Lenten Fast. There were also Ember Days where the name Tempura comes from because Tempura was created for Portuguese Missionaries to eat on Ember Days and Rogation Days. Finally any major Saint for a region was honored with a Fast in preparation of their Feast Day.

This led to A LOT of days where people just didn't eat a lot also during the 40 days of Lent sexual abstinence is to be observed.

However on the flip side this meant that Feast Days were massive celebrations backed by the Church and working on them or forcing the peasants to work needlessly on them was a grave sin. Especially Easter since it didn't just mean you could eat a lot it also meant you just went through a 40 day No Fap and that peasant girl who just lost a ton of weight over Lent is looking extra arousing.

Mumei's internal true self vs what she presents seems to have been masked for a while and I don't think even she herself is exactly sure what she wants to be. All I know is the Lex Luthor name ought to stick for reasons beyond HERposting because Mumei herself actually has bits of that kind of quirk for real. That's what you get when you pander to fucking redditors aka basic bitch casuals there just as much to circlejerk themselves as to actually have a real passion for something, and game the algo to get the attention of complete normalfags who don't even like anime or Japanese culture etc. Sure like a million of those guys will sub but that's because subbing in the West is like just throwing as many freebies as you want into the cart going along shopping for things to quench your boredom. It doesn't mean much because if you have like 50 other non-chuuba channels to watch that's just one option. For JP chuubas they tend to lean more on using the subs as leverage and something that needs to be earned, not something you just go up and down the roster subbing to all of them if you kind of liked 1 or 2 ENs from a couple clips you saw. Doubly not comparable if you take in the fact that Guras done heaps of karaoke, will do heaps more, if you miss one no big deal, anything amazing will be a clip on the front of your yt whrn you login. First karaoke/first non-members karaoke, unarchived, unannounced/short notice \!0o0!/ better get in there fast in case it is something magical, and might be lost to history. plus basic curiosity as to how well the new girls can sing.
