Simple designs are always the best, having a bunch of details and accessories may make you stand out somewhat but it could easily make you look like a retard. Only use 2 to 3 colors that compliment each other as your primary color, anything more would be a mess to look at. Design outfits that you think that you/your character would actually wear and not something that you think would stand out/looks cool. I've been applying, but haven't heard anything from anyone. All the stuff I've put down is how I've been helping an indie, running a disc*rd, and have a business/management-related degree. Not sure what could actually help me out more than that.

Who have you been managing, and how big have they got?

DESU, I would have thought managers would either be brought on along with the talent, or they'd recruit externally to vtubing - it's still new(ish) as a field, so there probably isn't much experience in it.

The one thing I'd mention is that if you've only boosted one chuuba, that doesn't prove much. Ideally, you should have done it for several, including one who's BAD, and needs to be carried.

Yeah, so the problem is that with only datapoint, they can't tell if you're actually good at your job (sorry). checked on google, it reckons 1-2 months average to hit affiliate. Using that as a benchmark because it's a solid, set, point

Some people speedrun affiliate, and get it in 5 days. Some people take years to get there. If you manage one person on Twitch, and they hit it in 1 month, then that's the lower end of average, which is good. If you get them there in a fortnight, that's REALLY good... But maybe it was a fluke.

If you do five streamers, and get them all to affiliate within 6 weeks, then you're showing consistency, even if it's not as good as your previous. Pretty much everywhere would rather have consistent results than massive peaks and troughs.

What you should do is pick a streamer that's plateaued, preferably for a few weeks. Manage them, get them inclining up to the next milestone (affiliate, 10/25/50 average, whatever). That way they can see it's not just an eye for picking talent, or luck, but actual work. The time you personally put in made a difference to a streamer.

>what an actual manager does
Sets up social media for the talent, keep an eye on trends, get everything ready to go
Works the posts and ensures that they get picked up by other accounts. Possibly works to delete posts with low engagement to be recycled
Clears technical/legal issues in advance - makes sure that the music library is filled with a good selection to avoid DMCA
Falseflags as fans to commission fanart, or just generating official art.
Merch - finding artists, getting the art, getting it set up.
Find and rec collab options on games, as well as players. If they've got a manager, makes it ever easier, because we can organise it without the talent's ego getting in the way.
Sponsors. If you approach with a group of 3 under a single banner, you get a bigger cut of the pie than if 3 singles do it. There's more weight to your selection, and if all three of the talents promote someone, you have a much wider and deeper reach.
All the stuff that an indy could do outside of actual streaming - they find someone who can do it better than the streamer, so they have more hours in the day to actually focus on their main product.

doubtful that any /asp/ie would ever need a manager for the things you described until they're at least approaching 100 active viewers.
>legal shit
doesn't matter since you don't have the numbers, at worse your VOD is deleted
>collabs
also doesn't matter since you can just feel out who you want to collab with, if you're reaching out to another chuuba who is big enough for a manager, you're not getting a collab
>sponsors
they make sponsorships retard proof since it's been a commonplace thing since 2013 on twitch. Raid Shadow Legends even automates 90% of their sponsorship deals that almost any Twitch affiliate can enroll in. larger ones aren't even an option since you don't have the numbers to even get their attention.
>trends and promotion
just make a fucking tiktok account and scroll through it for 5 minutes and you'll pick up on all the trends. making a <30s video on OBS is dead simple, all you need to do is flip the orientation of the video so it fits on a phone.

I'm finally caving to viewer requests and attempting an ASMR audiobook reading in the near future. I think my microphone is all set up with the appropriate filters/chains/etc., but I'm lost as to what I'm supposed to do other than read the book I've chosen (yes I have rights to it before you ask). I don't use any filters or modulators (other than noise gating and compression), which many a view has said leads to a calm (lol) and soothing voice. Some don't mind that I'm using a female avatar, but more than one person has said I should get a male one instead. Really I'm using a female avatar because it's been my brand for many years. Not that chuuba, but I think it's incredibly close-minded, design-wise, to call horns generic. I do agree there are a lot of cut-and-paste horned-vtubers out there, but the fault lies in a generic and unimaginative design. Horns offer a lot of creativity options in a design. Horns don't usually work, its plain and simple. Its over done. For females its a little more welcomed occasionally but for male chuubas you will get filtered by many. No base concept is original but going for something extremely over done that's known to hit a small limit is always going to be a debuff. Raid Etiquette.

So last night, I'd planned on raiding someone's debut - we'd chatted briefly on twitter, he had a cool model, and I figured it'd be nice to support a new streamer. Checking before going, I was raiding as a party of 15.

Turns out his first ever stream was going well, and he was currently sitting on 25 viewers. My 15 was noticeable, although only two others posted a raid message.

If I raid into someone with a viewcount of 60, then my viewers are a significantly smaller size than them. From what I've seen, raids of 1 or 2 into medium size streamers (20+) generally get ignored, or just a thank you; whereas larger raids tend to get a shoutout.

But if I raided into Hal0, who's currently got 450 viewers, that'd very obviously be clout chasing, right? Or does it not matter so much with the much larger ones? Or if I raided 'GTWiseGuy', who's got something like 15K viewers, that's the same.

Or does it just not matter? Raid whoever, ignore size, nobody views it as clout chasing?

you think the EN sphere won't have trannies and twitterfags doing the same shit? if you're in the public eye as a streamer, you're going to deal with shitty and annoying people. learn to ignore and not give them the reaction they're pining for.

these people have adhd and if you're not giving them instant gratification they'll put up a tweet and move on.

I noticed that the Youtube Shorts Shelf Algo is a bit normie. It seems to be rehashed content and reuploadings straight from TikTok. that's because the shorts are literally trying to copy Tiktok. it's not that the algorithm is inherently normie, it's that the service i.e. shorts, is trying to get established as a core aspect of youtube. and the way to do that is by pushing the most mainstream stuff that already works. give it some time and it'll start branching out into more niche topics.

seriously doubting this unless you've got some medical condition like Corpse husband does. especially because you sound incredibly breathy, which is a sign that you're trying too hard to go lower than your voice normally sits at. but it really doesn't matter, since the initial gut reactions from anons is that you're trying to hard. any viewer who walks into your streams is going to have similar gut reactions.

this is kinda dumb since both are transferrable skills. drawing models can come in hand if you start working freelance indie game projects, visual novels and serializations. rigging is the same thing. a lot of mobile card gacha games being churned out in korea, china, and japan utilize live2d rigging for minor animations and movement in their gacha cards.
