It's actually kinda sad because many of the girls ARE socially awkward but being in HL helps them open up to people (See: Pekora). Mel was thankful her fans were there for her and was one of the main reasons she actually returned after that guy got sued into the ground and given gag orders about Mel's dox.

It's a shame as some guys would genuinely look after someone like that and be happy for their success.

She rejected his advances so he went full menhera and started doing shit like calling her for meetings in the office and standing her up, calling her on the phone right before streaming and keeping her on the line for hours asking her pointless quiestions, all to isolate her. She eventually reported him and got his ass fired, but kept stalking her because he knew her phone and home address. Cover essentially told her "we already fired him, what else you want us to do" so she lawyered up, got the guy arrested and threatened to sue Cover, in the end Cover had to issue a public apology, and pay for Mel's relocation costs.

- Official statement from her twitter back then:
She said that she was getting online harassments. She didn't know who it was, until one day she got it by email from someone she knew (possibly harasser forgot to change his email).
- Narukami's narratives:
There's someone from Cover who was a fan of her (before she joined Hololive) and suggested to Yagoo to recruit her.
Then he became her manager and used his position to get close to her, like inviting her to a meeting just the 2 of them in a cafe or something, but in the end, there's nothing about work being discussed.

So, it was kinda implied that the harasser was a Cover employee, but's it's still not 100% confirmed. People just assume that from the available evidences and narratives. It means that the harasser being currently (still) employed at Cover is also an assumption.

If what Narukami said is true, then MAYBE (narrative) Mel said that she's uncomfortable with her said manager, told Cover about it, that manager got a warning, and he was mad about it and started to harass her (online).

The key sentence is "she didn't know who it was, until...", meaning that:
- The harasser could be anyone, not necessarily from Cover. Cover was less controlling of their talents at that time. They didn't know whether the problems was company-related or private.
- The "sexual harassments" are probably online, not straight physical.
- The main problem was doxx threat. It'd be dangerous if her number, address, real name, etc got leaked.

Again, all of those are assumptions. Take it with a grain of salt.

That's what middle management is for. There's no point for him to check micro-manage streaming schedules or code when his presence can help convince Nissin, appease Nintendo, naked dogeza before the investors, or meet the next major sponsor.
