I wanted to talk about this because it is funny. Right now the top dog of Twitch and arguably far more Twitch subs than Dream also started Vtubing, RanbooLive. He's never shown his real face before but his rabid underage fanbase have doxxed him plenty and stalked him at parties so instead of doing partial facecam he's decreased that 'due to anxiety' and will start using an avatar. Both of these guys started at around the same time. Now, people in OTV also use vtuber models (Lilypichu, Sykkuno, etc) so it's nothing new that popular Twitchfags have moved to this medium.
But, it will be interesting seeing the space of Twitch pseudo vtubers interacting with the space of vtubers like Hololive and Nijisanji. Lilypichu did have a collab with Hana Macchia and Elira's about to collab with Sykkuno.
If their fans will ever move to watching Youtube streamers and vice versa, well we already know they don't, but young retarded Minecraft children are impressionable. They already only watch Minecraft streamers due to making up fanfiction with the characters they 'roleplay', just wait till they find out an entire medium of this. Never been a better moment to start debuting more EN speaking male vtubers than now, while zoomers are starting to look into it.

He then held a stream where he made a powerpoint of what he'd do on DreamSMP roleplay wise if he ever joined it, and Dream decided to add him to the roster. After that his popularity exploded. He's #1 on Twitch and whenever he falls off to #2 his army of female and LGBT simps dump money to fix that.
He also has the hand of playing into fans whims at every second, like entertaining the mentally ill (especially people who pretend they have multiple personality disorder), talking about being an ex-Tumblrfag gayshipper, pandering to LGBT, etc. This has also gotten him an army of schizo children who literally stalk his address and family/friends IRL

I don't know who this dude in the OP is, but I'm down with the idea of established streamers and content creators switch to the vtuber thing. It feels like back in the day when forums were popular and everyone was recognizable by whatever their avatar was.

Having a vtuber model is more visually interesting to me than the webcam set up, and actually makes the streamer feel more relatable somehow. Not in a parasocial attachment kind of way, but the way you can instantly feel something by looking at a Vineshroom if you're a Vinesauce fan versus seeing LilyPichu's room in the corner of the stream from a static camera.

I guess branding is the reason for it, that shit works.
