Exactly. There's a clear difference between someone who genuinely finds science stuff interesting but doesn't have the experience of an actual scientist (and is aware of that fact) and someone who is just blowing hot air in an effort to sound smarter than they actually are.
Sana is the former. She's not an expert by any means, but she still does find it cool and fun to think about, and that's fine. If anything, I think it's good for topics like these to become more casualized, and not just be seen as super smarty nerd speak for smarty smarts to show off how smarty smart they are. But for that to happen, people like OP need to stop having such a strong kneejerk reaction to it.

I'm not surprised hearing that. Even with just a BS you're going to do some dives into Quantum Mechanics and do a pretty thorough job at E&M. Even if you weren't formally taught the master & doctorate versions, you can at least read and understand some documents you probably shouldn't be able to if it was a different field. I know personally of asking questions that have led to hours of lectures from professors.
