EN is pretty far from a representation of the whole, and they did amazing with gen 5 anniversary and all the birthdays this month. I'm throwing a lot of cash at Cover, and have faith they'll continue to provide solid content in the future. I do like some of their EN, but for now I'm a massive nijiEN fan for dragons, Pomu, and Finnana

Meh soulless and corporate. I still support the vtubers I found and fell in love with, but I don't have the rose-tinted glasses I had when I first discovered it. I definitely don't buy the "family" stuff. Sometimes the staged stuff really comes through as well and that's kind of a turn off. Probably why I'm not too much of a fan of collabs either anymore. Not to mention virtually all of the "lives" are at least partially pre recorded... Oh well. I'm slowly discovering other chuubas who still love and enjoy what they do.

Hololive? For the most part yes, but EN2 was very underwhelming for me. The only one that interested me was Kronii. Management can fuck off though because they clearly have favorites and give them special treatment.

Maybe I feel this way because the novely has worn off a lot. I got into hololive last year. I still watch my oshi regularly but I'm not as desperate to catch every live stream like I was in the beginning. I'm fine with just watching VODs now.

Also this. It's obvious some members just don't like each other. Which is fine, people can't be expected to like or get along with all of their co-workers. That and I prefer watching my oshi do stuff on her own except when she collabs with people she has good chemistry with.

Unless they strike gold in the future like they did with the first EN, I'm not gonna lie, slowly losing my interest in them after almost a year of following EN. EN2 doesn't seem all that interesting and they generally feel forced. As entertainers, most of Hololive doesn't provide much. Combine that with the absolute autism that is getting game permissions and you're left with Apex and Minecraft forever and ever, and it gets boring no matter how good a talent is at talking. I'll watch Astel play his crazy ass off for example, because his long endurance runs are entertaining, not because of the game itself. Of the girls I'd say Amelia Watson is the one always trying new things, and her streams are fun because of it. But girls like her are the exception, not the rule.

This is why they will never break a ceiling and tryhard male streamers are still the most successful streamers aside from softcore porn sluts bending over. Last night on twitch there was a guy speedrunning Mario 64 and he had like 17K viewers and a bunch of hype, and it was entertaining. If Holostars didn't have the generic Cover restrictions they would be bigger too. They have it worse because they are living in Japan so they have to always be careful about unicorns going psycho and tracking them down over saying "hi" to one of the holo girls on twitter, but generally they are more entertaining than the girls. In short, what I'm trying to say is that when you get over the cute moments and zatsudans, you'll realize men are just better entertainers overall and why twitch streamers are still on top. More freedom, no game restrictions, more interesting content. A female with or without an anime avatar has their limits because they just don't try hard enough. They don't HAVE to, so it's less entertaining for those that aren't charmed at first sight.

Cover seems to be interested in expanding their roster for no reason. EN2 has maybe three entertaining ones but we'll see. The corporate restrictions is what will, eventually, bite them in the ass to an irreparable level. It happened once before with the VOD nuke, which marked their decline in entertainment value.

What I'm getting at is that at some point, a lot of people will realize watching their favorite twitch streamers is just better for entertainment.

No, they're incredibly mismanaged and nip buisiness practices are destroying them.
They should've started the motion of creating a subsidiary company for EN to get around a lot of the JOP business autism and to obtain the ability to be able to temporarily rent a studio space for the girls when needed. They also needed to invest more on current talents and give additional support to the ones dominating the space.

It's very obvious Cover aren't the best at going after the west, the JP vtubers are more entertaining still. They need to start some separate brands, have the talent collab a lot and build a good rapport early. If they get a good fan response, induct them as a new gen a year down the line. Also I might add the reason I find "that" question so important is that EN1 was (nearly) spotless in that regard and generally was murky at best besides Ame's case which never really got far because the rrat slayed itself almost the same day. So, we have that expectation going forward that Cover commits to "that" as important and holds up their EN talents to the same standards/rigors as their JP ones. It seems, they no longer do. I'd guess EN management has been pushing to just let things corrupt and try to get shit to slide and for that and many other reasons I think they're the bane of the company. They take credit for shit they didn't do and of course don't take credit for holding the talents back in 5x more ways than they've helped them grow.
