I'm positive this audition thing is for exactly that. At least one person will be someone who's at best a tertiary (like Bao, or girl_dm) and at most someone who hasn't really publicly been associated with them at all. Obviously it's an audition so they'd have to make sure it's someone that all the girls approve of, but this is a good way to expand the group and who can really be part of it so it's not just Mel and pals. Much as I like the cozy feeling that the current group has the addition of Froot was something really special that I think has paid off tremendously. If they can replicate that with more people it could really broaden horizons.

Yeah, I don't have a clue how many they want to bring in. The original 5 were already vtubers who were established and they created two new vtubers (one small streamer and one big streamer) and then Veibae later. Whether Hime is a success story or not remains to be seen, but Froot absolutely has been, if for nothing more then she brought in a UK audience. I would love to think they want at least one more JP streamer both to build that fanbase and to have someone Hime can collab with more regularly. Beyond that, I really don't know. I also do not expect them to debut all of them at the same time. If they're going to have streamers becoming vtubers then they will need time to get their models and rigging done and some practice with it. More established vtubers could start sooner, of course, but I don't think they want to launch a bunch simultaneously purposely to avoid that "generation" idea, because they've said they don't do that.

He's a bigger name outside of streaming than he is in it and his bar is a great way to highlight smaller vtubers while getting them involved in his antics. He'd probably still be considered a tertiary but he straight up credits Mouse with his inspiration for becoming a vtuber, and has streamed with Haruka many times. In case anybody missed it, VShojo put out the same call for open auditions to their Japan Twitter account. Not unusual because they redo everything on their main channel to their JP channel, but it does seem to go along with the idea they would have no issues with a Japanese streamer (or anywhere else for that matter). Small and comfy youtube streams are fine, but I hope she won't do them too often. It feels like she has streamed as much on youtube as she has on her main channel in the past week and I don't think I want this to become the new normal. Right now it feels like she would start a youtube stream if she just wants to talk, but a lot of people enjoy just chatting content on her main channel and the youtube streams probably cut into that. I hope she gets over those brain goblins that make it difficult for her to do that with a large audience. Or maybe I'm just worrying too much?
