Probably because of Youtube's view count fuckery. If you need an example of how bad it is, Pippa from Phase Connect did a poll and it had twice as many votes as it did viewers, they just straight up don't count a lot of viewers.

That seems to be a lot more common than expected. Granted my image is an hour long poll, but 2k views shouldn't equal 10k votes. I've seen something simlar with Ina where, despite having the most consistent viewerbase, had a poll with more votes than viewers.

It's more that the argument has changed. Vtubing popularity has peaked for the time being, Gen 2 is nice for already existing Holofans but I'd be surprised if it improved the popularity of the medium on the whole.
