Shubao is incredibly self-conscious about her voice. Considering the entire duck voice thing has basically overriden almost everything about her because of that one asmr, can you blame her? I mean she's learned to roll with it but that's got to impact any girl.
She's even more self-conscious about her singing because it's something she puts real effort into and wants to improve upon. She doesn't like what she perceives as her "mistakes" being kept up for viewing so her streams go bye bye because she always, in her eyes, makes mistakes.

Yes but that has nothing to do with the duck thing, that's her stick and makes her stick out in the sea of talents. All she has to do is tell her co-worker to not bring it up and ignore the comments and it would have died out in 2 months. Subaru's been privating her utawaku for more than a year now. Started because she was really tired after her birthday and didn't perform to her best, now it's the norm. Always sweating, hands shaking, nervous. Sometimes she's better, sometimes she's not. That's the reality of singing she still can't accept. You can't be at your 100% every day and worrying about it only makes it worse.

Seems like Subaru takes singing too seriously now and I don't agree with that mindset, I think she's at her best when her passion is on display. Caring about skill and comparing yourself to others is the fastest way to kill your confidence. Most holos who aren't strangers to making mistakes either don't care about them (like danchou or Ame who know they can't sing but do it anyway) or iron them out by training (like Kanata who basically guesses the pitch but keeps trying songs that test her ability to do that). Only tryhards treat karaoke streams as demonstration of skill. Not necessarily a bad thing when you have something to brag about (like Nene and sometimes Suisei) but if you listen to Subaru's old utawaku before her idol pride was at stake, they weren't really bad and she just had fun. My favorite one is still her NND medley utawaku.

Honestly, to me it seems like a case of performance anxiety/stage fright, which I completely understand. I was the exact same way, I would train and train and train and train and train some more, but when it was time for the games I would be nervous wreck until I got into the groove of the game. Which kinda like what Subaru is like right now, if you go back and watch her old utawakus she always said she was nervous. But for this year, she also always apologizes when she makes a mistake or some other form of putting herself down. It saddens me to hear her say these things but I understand where she's coming from, which is odd considering how spectacular she is once she calms down. That 誇り高いアイドル the other night was superb and really fit her well I think. Goddamn song made me tear up a bit too. I just want her to take our praise to heart and realize she's doing an amazing job.

When she just started singing she could barely get through a karaoke stream without crying so naturally she got better at it. She just got into the valley of Dunning-Kruger effect and can't get out. I'm just saying that making mistakes is normal and karaoke streams aren't the place to sweat over them. She's one of my favorite Hololive singers, I just wanna hear more of her singing.
