HoloEN overall is on a recline - people are just now realizing that Gura is a boring and unentertaining streamer, hence why her CCV has been on a steady decline. Ina is consistent and is the only Holo that panders to the EU schedule, so she has a leg up until people move on from Hololive as a whole.

Consider the steady decline of HoloEN viewers vs the massive gains for Nijisanji in the same period - Vtuber fans have now come to understand that Hololive is bottom of the barrel braindead entertainment and Nijisanji will be the king once more.

Clicked, stayed long enough for their server to count, that's a view. There are also stats for average retention period and stuff like that, which tends to be extremely low. I believe it was Coco who said her average was 3 minutes. If someone with her kind of content can't keep most people's attention for even 5 minutes, who can?
There's also the fact that the Holo audience tends to engage with the specific intent of boosting the algorithm, so for example people will click the stream with no intention of actually watching it, just to give it a like. Or a dislike, if it's the holo involved in the current drama.

I agree, but it shows that the number of people who do this is indeed huge, explaining the VOD counts right after the stream ends, and why someone who was consistently lower throughout the stream was ahead in VOD views.

Guys if you want to numberfag vod views you need to wait a few hours until yt got their shit together. In the ender dragon collab Ina had lower vod view than Mori when the collab ended even though Ina had a lot more live viewers. Took multiple hours for the rest of the views to slowly creep in. How come numberfags always know the least about the numbers they post?

Not necessarily, especially if the live view count is lower. A higher live view count stream has to have more people coming in to make up for more people leaving.
It hasn't been long enough yet for the VOD views to be accurate in this case but it was really odd when Gura had more VOD views than Pekora during the summer festival.

Gura is a global Holo. She has less live watchers on average relative to her subs but more vod watchersto make up for it. Ina's audience is assumed to be mostly western and eastern, with a more stable and engaged fanbase that brings in competitive numbers in proportion to her subs.

Gura has quantity. Ina has quality. But that's to be expected, as they cater to opposite demographics. Gura's fanbase is comprised of ironic weebs who like clapping and laughing along. Ina's target demo is more similar to lamy's. Her fanbase are "responsible" adults who value engagement and competence. Given the age of YouTube's average modern viewer, gura being more popular was inevitable. Regardless, there's not much to compare because aside from both being vtubers competing for general market share, their niche markets are fundamentally distinct and exclusive.

tldr Raw numberfagging ignores the finer nuances of armchair statistical analysis. Personally, I consider Ina to have solid long term staying power as her fandom is more community than fad chasers.

Average is the best metric because it shows that a huge amount of people aren't staying, especially compared to those staying longer.
Median is a decent measure but it's ignoring the fact the view count gets inflated by drivebys. If there is a normal distribution of something similar to
>5k - 10 second viewers
>4k - 1hour viewers
>2k 3 hour viewers
Saying the average/median is 1hour is disingenuous because nearly half the viewers didn't actually watch for any amount of time and you need to account for that.

Hypothetically from a statistics standpoint you'd just throw away all the driveby viewers and not even include them as views or likes because theyre irrelevant and didn't partake in the content at all. At most you'd include it as a separate statistic not included in the primary viewers statics

>> No.7850307

>>7847950
It's not necessarily VOD watchers, Youtube takes time to "verify" views after a stream. Gura may have just had more people removed from the live view count.
>>7848339
If they were viewbots they wouldn't show up as VOD views either. Youtube doesn't add views to the total until they get verified.
>>7849494
Unless Gura had more people than Ina removed from the live view count this isn't likely. If everyone was actually counting as a live view then there would be heavy fluctuations in the count.
People are constantly coming and going from streams so in order to maintain a higher live view count you need more people coming in.
If Gura actually had fewer live views, it's very unlikely that she had higher view churn.
