2view = usual view range is between 10 and 99, 3view = usual view range is between 100 and 999, etc
with 2views, you're becoming a member of the community, and any absence will be felt by the chuuba. with 4 views you're almost always going to be a nameless face in the crowd. with 3 views you can usually go either way as you prefer.

what kind of games do you like? that's probably the most useful for giving recs. large corps will usually be more neutered in game choice because they need to get permission, but most people don't mind. timezone is also usually important if you're watching live, but doesn't matter if you watch vods.

lots of chuubas don't cater to a particular gaming niche and just play popular stuff or flavors of the month, but if you have a particular niche you're interested in (retro, fighting, autism, strategy, visual novels, gacha, jrpg, first person shooters, etc) then you can get a good rec much faster.

The "safest" thing to start with is either Hololive or the large indies. (I'm still shilling Dokibird.) Hololive is effectively the king of the industry right now, and their largest competitor, Nijisanji is kind of in the middle of a major scandal that's likely going to kill their overseas expansions, and by extension their english branch. Hololive tends to be relatively drama free due to proper management, but it can get a bit impersonal due to the gigantic fanbase. Gura's fun, but she tends to not stream very frequently due to health issues or whatever, so it's recommended to find someone else if you want a consistent source of entertainment. (Like Dokibird, who uploads/streams almost daily)
In Hololive, the current biggest "gamer" is Koseki Bijou, followed by Ceres Fauna and Nanashi Mumei. Bijou's probably the closest parallel to Gura if all you care about is video games. She does long grinds at video games and is pretty good at them, on top of streaming frequently. The other two are less common but have their own personalities that people tend to like (Ceres being a "comfy" streamer that you can use as background noise, and Mumei being a "surprising" streamer who tends to do random autistic shit, like drawing a hyper realistic bloody skull for no fucking reason in a game just because she can.)

Nijisanji recently had an issue where one of their members nearly committed suicide due to corporate harassment and bullying during their tenure at the company, and after it was revealed, they doubled down and attacked the poor girl AGAIN, so the whole company is kind of radioactive now.

It's more like agencies? The corporations tend to sign on individual streamers and give them a model, a pre-existing group to use for collaborations and multiplayer games, etc. and then it's usually up to them to grow it afterwards. Hololive is the "big guy" that's head and shoulders above everyone else, kind of has a monopoly on the market, but that doesn't necessarily mean they're "better" than the smaller corpos or indies, just that they have the most resources and money and the biggest reach.

But yeah there's a lot of console wars going on. Do you have a genre of games you like or a type of streamer you prefer? That could help narrow down a starting point.

That said, I'm still shilling Dokibird.

It has clippers and vtubers and you can just look them up from there. If you're interested in a particular game, you can also look that game up to see who's played it.
It doesn't have much data for twitch vtubers since twitch doesn't do vods so you'll have to sniff around a bit for that content.

Holodex lets you search specific game titles & pulls up a history of vods from chuubas who have played it. Searching RDR2 brings up a lot of Mori Calliope, who's a part of the same cohort as Gura. GTAV has that roleplay stuff right? I don't know that much unfortunately except that it's more popular with twitch vtubers, but you might ask around in the /lig/ general and see what they know. It's also recommended you watch the famous GTAV clip of Sakura Miko.
Insofar as strategy games go, Clio Aite, hag & ex-history professor, is your usual go-to for paradox plaza stuff. Kaneko Lumi might also be up your alley although I don't care much for her. Matara Kan is another hag who has a taste for strategy games & has played Bannerlord, Rimworld, Ck3, etc, but I think nowadays she does a lot more zatsudans (talking streams). Maria Marionette also played a decent chunk of Bannerlord, but I don't know her too well.

Honestly... there's a sense in which the answer is no. Nobody does Gura better than Gura; as far as I can tell, nobody even comes close. There are a lot of anime girls playing games, and many of them are fun to watch, but there's only one Gawr Gura, and she's megapopular for a reason. There are a lot of good suggestions in this thread, and you'll probably find someone you like, but if you go in expecting a Gura clone, or even Wal-Mart Gura, you'll be disappointed.
