When you have goodwill, fans are more forgiving, it’s an objective fact. Add to the fact the Nijisis literally tried to fake “Holofes doesn’t exist, this is the greatest thing ever” without realizing this type of BS annoys normal people, you have the perfect recipe for a PR disaster.

3D model quality isn't really that big of a deal as long as the motion is smooth and the tracking is good (which aside from Petra's necc seems like it was the case)
But the fact they cancelled it with no explanation, had over a year to work on it, and still have no semblance of a lighting model makes it really damning. Also Pomu isn't in it and they cut most of the girls' parts to delete Selen so there's nothing there I want to see anyway

To save NijiEN, they literally need to spend more money on events for EN organs and let them shine more on their own. If Anycolor is willing to take more loss on their end for the organs to be happy, then people may give them a second chance, and only then will the branch be able to grow back

Honestly the whole issue is you need to keep up a sense of momentum or people get bored and drift away, and niji completely wasted a entire fucking year of 2023 by cancling the ar live and then stalling the entire 3d pipeline to the point they on managed 2/3 on lazulight and then never managed obsydia till 2024.
If people see their support not being rewarded then they'll leave.
On the corporate side niji wasted it and a huge number of their talents just coasted rather than even trying to pick up the slack because of how crap their management is at trying to support them in spending their own money on keeping interest in the brand alive.
In another world you get the ar live, rapid fire obsydia and ethyria 3d and then you can hit luxiem 3d when the fujos start to drift away again. That feels like the obvious order things were meant to go in but with the ar live canceled luxiem went on strike for a period (making things even worse) and then everything just froze for a whole year rather than adjusting or being pushed hard on to get done.

I probably would have paid to see Selen and Pomu dance their little brains out, and I doubt any amount of jank would taint that experience irrecoverably. No idea why they canceled it. It was one of the few times we saw a disgruntled reaction from nearly everyone employed there.

Doubt it would have provided enough of a sense of unity to prevent Zaion, Pomu, and Selen leaving though, or changed the core nature of the cult posing as a company. In the end, a world where they escaped its clutches and its power was weakened is the better one.

But thanks once again for reminding me what they took from us.
