She's simply an expert entertainer. Gura knows how the general public perceives her (cute) and how chumbuds see her (sex god). She managed to balance between those 2 opposing views perfectly without shaming anyone or appearing fake. She also has a cute voice and can sing. Although she's now mostly coasting, many people still come back to see her simply because they know they'll have a good time when she streams based on their previous experiences. That's also why they buy her merch - they liked her and/or still like her. I think people who needed her to stream daily as an emotional support crutch have either moved on or found other vtubers to watch when she isn't streaming, and that is absolutely fine.

Didn't Gura say during her 1st anniversary that Myth had no input on their designs? She compared it to whether a person has any control over their appearance when they are born. That might have changed with Advent but it's obvious that Myth and Council were given finished models.

Dunno if it was the case for the whole gen, but Gura did get to influence the final result. Originally, her design was not meant to have any visible teeth. She requested them but was denied. In the end, they agreed to just have the top row of her teeth be visible. I also very vaguely remember Kiara complaining how some got to influence their looks while others didn't. I'm not sure if she was talking about just the Myth girls or referring to JP gens.

Gura is practically that, and honestly COVER is doing everything by letting her take her time and barely appearing so she doesn't get tired and dip. Almost every Holomember that has talked about it says that overall you can't and won't be able to change most of the design, you can kinda ask for a few corrections here and there or small changes like Gura trying to get spiky teeth but it also entirely depends on how "late" you got selected because remember, they have to get a fuckton of stuff like intros, promo art and a full rig all for the debut day, so they can't be having one talent taking too much time changing the design, also, if they change it too much, it could not align with the theme of the generation.

However, the talents do seem to have a lot of input in later outfits, as seen by Calli's reaper rapper outfit, or Marine just telling the designer to crank up the sex to 11 while giving up the necessary concesions so she can still stream with it. Same with Polka's casual clothes or Ina's gamer lax outfit.

The only ones that MIGHT have had some considerably input in their designs are probably, Fuwamoco, because one design would inevitably influence the other to cash in on the "twins/sister" theme too, but it also had to be in-line with the pre-established demon dog theme.

I'm actually kinda curious as to what their future costumes would be, FWMC always mean double model.

Gura was the shining beacon of the EN VTuber sphere, after her, there was a massive surge of debuts from the indie side and vtweeters legit became a thing.
The pandemic ended, but Gura is still, to the people that are active here and beyond and to those that gave up interest in this right before the EN scene became weird, that Gura IS the queen of the vtubers.
