No it was an orchestration error, it was continuing to call ”detect killed” after hitting the blast zone and so it would get two stocks instead of one if you didn’t immediately zip to being respawned, and I had an == instead of a <= so it just wouldn’t subtract stocks or try to go to “dead” after dipping below 0 stocks. Known issue for weeks but I didn’t need to investigate it until I tried making matches work

Today I kept practicing hit confirms, I wonder if my brain will rewire or something and I will be able to react better. I had to go out today, but I had an idea to keep training even so: I would tap periodically my keys in my hand every so often, and the first moment I saw a person I would double tap it, this to simulate the block/ hit event. I also tried to do it with my eyes closed so catch it by the sound.
On another note I watched several videos of "cash out combos" but turns out they were SHIT and I was able to get more damage labbing something with less hits, the people just wanted to show their long as combos instead of giving out the real shit. To find modern max damage combos youtube isn't helping at all so I might have to venture into discords.

At the end of the day I watched some replays of top players. There is exactly one legend player who plays Juri on modern so my plan is just to copy everything hm he does. I hope this guy has a plan cause I picked up Juri pretty much on a whim.
Now to make it vtuber related I had a horrible realization: I was going to analyze Sophie's replays to see if there as a weak spot and they are all gone. The game only archives them for 60 days or so and she hasn't played in all that time, and even if you save it they die anyway. The only way to find that info now is on her youtube archives which will be outdated.
I dont think this pink woman, much like the orange one, is ever coming back to street. Women do be loving Tekken.

I need to stress that this IS a really QUALITY game. It’s very technically sound, it’s very visually impressive, and basically everything about it is high quality… except for the gameplay itself. And as much as I’ll praise the aesthetic and the general production quality, all that isn’t important if the gameplay and formula itself isn’t fun to engage with, whether that be because of glitches (haven’t encountered any which is good) or just badly thought out mechanics or implementation. It’s why so many people loved holocure even in its early days when it wasn’t as visually refined as it is now, and it’s why people are lukewarm about holobreak despite the insanely high production quality it has.

Let’s be fair and acknowledge it launched in a half-baked state though. From what I’ve played (and I’ve tried a lot), it’s not built for single player. The game just doesn’t balance well when there’s only one player for the AI to aggro on, and one play style going on. If you have projectiles, you lack healing. If you have healing, you lack range. There’s a lot of other tradeoffs in that vein. And you’re forced to supplement with items that you may or may not even get. Not even to mention that in most screens in the latter half, there’s just too much shit going on at any moment for any one player to deal with without running away to recuperate. That’s mostly down to projectiles and super armor. It just doesn’t work right as a single player game, but it would probably work great for multiplayer.

Actually you know what? I just had a thought. I think the game could benefit a whole lot from having an upgrade tree per character, kind of like holocure’s skills. Let us spec into certain aspects of the characters. Faster jab combo, quicker charge, larger projectiles, moving attacks, built in super armor on charges (without relying on the rng item), more ammo for Botan, stuff like that. Something that forces you to pick a path to specialize on, but isn’t rng locked so you have to get lucky to use it. And seriously, the upgrades for the items need to DO something. It’s not worth spending coins to upgrade or enhance when you don’t see any noticeable difference, and the stats will just get outclassed anyway by floor loot you find on the next level

Am i the only one that had no problems with holo x break? I don't even play beat em ups, but i beat every achievement on the first day solo, i even did hard mode run without any equipment to buy as many emotes as possible, you just have to take your time with bosses and spam book/shuriken for the minibosses (15-20 books should be enough for the entire run so if you come across it in a shop you just max buy for like 5k and you win the run essentially)

10 shurikens is a free win against laplus aswell, she has a ton of phases with armour which just means the shuriken melts her if you hit them and her spinning move gets fucked if you land a single shuriken as she gets stun locked and can't move towards you, the hardest is definetly lui, but its just because she really punishes greedy play and has that one machine gun attack where she randomly aimbots you, but you just need to have warrior dango x8 or mayo and you can beat it ez
the entire game is mostly trivialized by book spam though, even if you get knocked down constantly books still do dmg while you are invincible and it melts everything so even if you can't dodge for shit you'll clear most of the time even while actively dying
If you want to guaranteed get a win just get any equipment with hp + attack and max that out, doesn't even have to be any specific gear (but choco horns or the shirt that gives hp are the best (but again i've done several no gear runs) and the aki boots are alright if you know what you are doing) and if you hit a hp + attack + speed gear you just insta win by upgrading
I've played like 8 runs and only "lost" 2 total because i died to the lui once and gave up and died oncee to laplus once before i found out that tuning fork (when she starts spinning orbs just throw a fork out and push her away) or shuriken trivialize her

yeah, lui is defo the hardest, to anyone struggling with her i recommend either getting really good at using shurikens for the second teleport machine gun thing she does or just getting 10 phoenix swords and getting free damage that way, and abusing that attack where she teleports from side to side to machine gun, its just free dmg (if you are playing iroha just second special on her second teleport if you have the red claws its like a fifth of her hp instantly)

The feng shui training arc paid off and I can pull the simpler combos with relative ease now.
I learned one within a day and can pull it off consistently. I think I will be able to piece them together before the month end for my 40+ hit combo, but that is widly optimistic.

Now i can go back to this week objective of trying to pull the combo on a moving target 20 times.

It’s in godot, so I used a tool to decomp it and then reopened it in my own godot environment. There’s something weird going on with class inheritance so I can’t exactly compile it to make mods or edits, but I can see how it works. Mostly it’s convinced me to never use godot because of its code structure

It's like when vtubers fight each other and one unfollows, it gives them confirmation the drama is real.
