Vtubing as actual anime characters is an akward deal, it feels like a natural direction in theory, but once you then what? Do you commission a soundalike and break the keyfabe? Give the busy VA essentially an extra job or risk little stream time leading to no dedicated fanbase? Should they stick completely to the established character even though that's not who the VA is? Can we even expect the VA to now every single detail of the character's personality the author writes and risk breaking immersion for lorefags (i.e. she would react like this)? If she's gonna just be herself would it even matter which character she plays in the long run?
