Yes, in the beginner tournament Day1 won, a former LoL pro. Second was Salome, who played acceptable and consistent with Zangief. Third was the surprising Dtto, who learned very quickly. Aki and Towa had their moments of glory, as both won at least one match against rivals who seemed superior by experience and rank.

I can get cutting down loser's bracket matches to FT1 to speed things along, but the guy who hadnt lost a single set in a double elimination tournament getting deprived of his extra life in grand finals is kinda unfair (unless the players were aware of this in advance).

Me too. I don't know if she's not interested but after playing with Naraka and after the collab the other day, it seems like she's still interested in playing SF6. Even a couple of weeks ago she was playing offstream. So I went back to my vod to double check something because I forgot what format I'm gonna do for the sol calibur. We’re actually adding a semiclone of her, I think that’s the reason for getting rid of Fubuki, so we have an extra slot. She’s called Cooc and is exactly the same but with really big hands so she has double the grab range. Juri anon report of the day:
Just now did 20 in a row. It was rather miraculous, until that point, top score had been 14.

I went in for the extra autism and graphed damage per combo and how many times in a row I was doing it

I started around 4:00pm, took a short break every half an hour to walk, and a long break of one hour or so every three.
I also stopped occasionally to do some rankeds because I was bored.

Some results:
1- Change even slightly the position in your hands within successful rounds: you will fuck up
2- Change music: you will fuck up
3- Tab to write score: you will fuck up (I had to stop)
4- Someone comes in: you will fuck up
5- Dog starts whimpering: you will fuck up
6- Start thinking you are going to fuck up: you will fuck up
7- Start think you havent fuck up: you will fuck up

I did found a small buff: practicing combos with the intent of "killing" provides extra concentration - as in, I imagine this was a real person and the combo was actually going to end the round somehow made me more efficient at doing it.

Next week objective should be doing it on a moving target but before I tackle that one I will be learning a non fenshui combo that will help me go into the next one. I will keep reporting results

As an interesting part, many times I missed a mid hit and did more damage, such is the nature of the scaling combo.
I decided it was irrelevant since the combo itself is already suboptimal just to maximize the numbers of hits already

I’ve been knuckling down on my CPU’s recovery ability, and it’s really crazy just how good she’s gotten at getting back to stage. There are occasional mishaps of course but for the most part she’s extremely proficient at recovering and mixes it up enough that I have trouble guarding her. She even wall techs spikes!

You can DI anything up to 14 degrees (the more perpendicular to the launch, the more angle change), however certain moves have a modifier to increase or decrease that. Examples are certain two-part moves that are meant to connect every time having a multiplier of 0, and certain hard-hitting moves I want to be easier to do survival DI on having a multiplier of 2. The multiplier currently also applies to SDI but that’s an easy tweak if I want to change it. I can’t remember if it applies to ASDI

Ult’s is weird mainly because you can’t DI anything that doesn’t send you into tumble, so you end up with sequences of weak moves that aren’t escapable. On the other hand it doesn’t have the melee issue where SDI is so strong you can effectively negate multihits (but they already corrected that with autolink boxes anyway, so…)

Juri anon with today's review

Today I didn't do much practice. instead I spend my time researching juri combos.

The reason for it is that I realized I need a way to constantly be practicing them without activating feng shui, because I can only do the power up at best twice per game when i get level 2 and thats gonna make hard to learn the in and outs of it.

Instead I found something similar to the full thing but without activating level 2 and hopefully it will teach me the rhythm necessary to pull the thing during actual combat once I get it done.

Also in the meantime I saw a nice combo from a guy, started practicing it only to realize it is ten times more unsafe on block than what I was using when I thought it was going to be a safe string.
It looked safe enough in the lab, -6 but pushes you far away, then a fucking gief 360 the fuck out of me every time.

godot is a lot more capable than gamemaker and is better for future-proofing. It's not like a good percentage of unity games don't run like ass either, but this is part of the price of increased accessibility to development.

I think at the low level Kiara is going to dominate the meta, since she’s easier to pick up, has nice range, feels less like you’re going to die if you make the wrong move, and has a couple of busted moves like dair, shine, up air 1, and her lightning quick forward air
However, at higher levels I think Gura will see more success, since played optimally she can kill you really fast, and her surprisingly adept recovery game can get her back from hits that don’t kill. In addition, if she decides to press the “fun button” (ssseth voice), she can kill off a tiny combo, so long as she doesn’t get hit or whiff

Tuesday Tekken?

This weekend is a new SF6 tournament in Japan, Tokyo Online Party AKA TOP. It is a 3vs3 "real tournament", without balance, with open registration and many full pro teams.
We have some confirmed chubas: The Lethal Plan trio is going to participate as a team, Botan will be there with Inaba and Aqua, a couple of pros. And the surprise is that Towa will be there too, she goes with Dogura and Tachikawa (her coach). I hope she doesn't get discouraged if she doesn't win any, the competition will be fierce.
At least when Botan participated in Topanga she came from more experiences against better players. Towa won a fight in a rookie tournament and the next weekend goes against professionals.

the biggest way to illustrate this a normal into DP, on hit the DP will connect but on block you're gonna be punishable as fuck, hence why hit confirming is a thing, I assume plat fighter have this too? Do these games not have cancels into other moves, or moves that are good on hit but take too long to come out/are punishable on block?
