I know what you mean and I agree. On the other hand I think the fanbases are here, but we tend to gravitate more towards twitter, YT comments and the chat itself as a way to express them. I may be wrong but that's how I started to operate because the threads became worse and worse. But this obviously means that fanbases became a blob because the threads became just ritual posts and unrelated stuff so people just opted for more direct involvement with their oshis.

I really think it's the sheer volume of new people who diluted the fanbases strength of presence while they themselves never belonged to any except Pippa's. Even folks who are inclined to become a part of this or that fanbase can't really get a feel for one or see it do its thing since it's all too diluted.
