Honestly setting aside any of the actual reasoning behind this and who’s more popular or whatever, the thing that makes me sad is just that it would have been such great content. Imagine the alternate reality in which they just continued doing things together to the extent you would expect two members of the same group who are friends and stream at pretty much exactly the same time would. Like when Ame was at the height of her Minecraft obsession, if they just had a set time where they played once a week or something. Gura doesn’t really like the game on her own but with a set goal thought up by someone else she probably would’ve liked just going along with whatever. And we probably would’ve ended up with more watchalongs, and maybe the podcast would have become an actual podcast. Where they talked about random shit or discussed some of the games they’d each streamed that week and made recommendations to each other. Would have been so good. Now it feels like that could never happen and somehow it’s because people would like it too much.
