Even in Japan she was by far the least hated holo in suki-kira not because she was loved but because no one cared about her enough to but a "kirai" on her page. She only started getting some attention when she spammed homo collabs for no reasons some months ago and it upset jp fans but outside of that she was the most forgettable holo.

True, and I don't know why it makes anons seethe. All of the early gen JP holos have been suffering for a long time if they failed to cause and maintain a popularity surge at some point in their careers. A new JP holo may be no more interesting than Mel but will absolutely eclipse her in popularity because the brand power immediately propels her. Less stand-out talents simply suffer in a dusty corner if they debuted before vtubing really took off, it's just the way it is.
