Ethots are ok. The world is not fair and some people are naturally much smarter, prettier, more sociable, richer, and talented than others. Many people are luckier than others. Members of society value these qualities.

Simps are ok. Simp is just another term like furry, weeb, nerd, geek, cuck used to malign people with different preferences. Anything can be bad or harmful. An avid football fan might gamble away his life savings on the sport, but that doesn't make watching football bad. A person allergic to peanuts might like the taste of peanut butter and kill themselves because that's their preference. A person who is depressed might kill themselves, because that's what they want. Other people with differing preferences might think it's weird, but I'm sure the depressed person would be confused why other depressed people don't just kill themselves too.

For Vtuber, it took an artist years of experience to design a good looking model and the voice actress need to be entertaining. Also if they want to be popular like Hololive, they need to do a good job at marketing. It is a performance of both art and business strategy.

Yes, except unlike the ones on twitter who have to spend time and effort making sure that the goods are in as good a state as possible, the vtubers just need to talk into the mic. Unlike the ones who need to drop lewds, these ones get free lewds from fans and artists hoping to catch some traction. This in turn gives them advertisment and indirect affection affection growth after busting a nut to their likeness. And while they also work to maintain a social presence when they're broadcasting, vtubers get to outsource this in the form of fanworks that not only draw fans but also help them find an image that they can mold themselves into.
Can you imagine if Amoranth or whoever didn't have to spend time and money getting her asshole waxed and bleached before she sits on a giant dragon dildo? Can you imagine if she didn't have to hire staff to manage the lighting, record the footage and photoshop the warts out of her shitring? Vtubers are quickly becoming a cult, and all the idols need to do are show up and adhere to the fantasy that the fans make of them. Money flows, and even those who cannot financially contribute burn their lives away in one form of the other. Even if it's drawing fan art, subbing clips or dropping views and comments to help goad the algorithm into favoring them. Every single iota of time ultimately condenses into money in the virtual-sluts bank.

I went three years without any vacation time or time off work that was guaranteed in my contract in the hopes of impressing my supervisors.

I do IT work. I put a fake smile on whenever I go to work and I regularly lie to clients and my managers to make my own life a bit easier. When people talk about prostitution, to me, that sounds more like me than people paid for sex, let alone vtubers. Both of the latter sound, to me, way more honest lines of work than my experience of 9 to 5 jobs, especially office job BS.

I've come to terms with that. I wish I could be paid to stream, and if other people can live that dream I'm happy to at least contribute something to that.

Before anyone brings up Coco, technically her activities pre hololive put her in this territory and I do not make an exception for that.
