Really all their problems really spawn from this.
It's not just hiring enough staff and paying them well it's they they're poorly trained and supported.
Remember the entire stories of two week wonders being pushed out the door. That's barely enough time to get retail workers trained but even then they're usually shoving them with an experienced worker so they can get shown the ropes beyond what the standardized training teaches them.

Like they went from 3 members to 25 members in a little over 1 year and by the end of 2022 they had added 32 members.

They could have had the best managers in the universe but come on. It's why if the GURRAT is true I give Elira a certain benefit of the doubt because you have a couple managers who barely speak English running a protracted game of telephone between each other to a corporate branch that keeps loading more and more on the plate until things just start leaking out at the seams.

Again this is all just speculation but I've worked jobs where this happens. Things are good then corporate loads more in the late then can realistically be handled, corporate tells everyone we are working on the problem, the problem isn't fixed, pressure build because people are now being stretched out to cover the spaces corporate is not filling, stress boils over, things that were looked over or fine before suddenly become fireable offenses, people who otherwise are good people begin acting like assholes, eventually it comes to a head and corporate finally shows up and is like "Wah waht happen? You guys should have told us there was a problem we could have prevented this. You guys need to communicate better with us. Tsk ask guess we'll have to fix this.".

I mean, back then it seemed fine to me to have ethyria debut. Niji was late to vtubing in the west and had to catch up. Lazusydia was great, but was all CGDCT.
Expanding with actual singers seemed the natural next step. Reimu could be used as a launching platform to tackle the Spanish-speaking market and Nina was the first "hag" vtuber in nijis roster.
Nobody could have known, that they would be ground zero for the situation we are in now.

As someone who watched Niji EN since the moment Pomi started her debut stream, let me tell you that men didn't even come close to being what turned Enna and Millie (and Elira) into the monsters they are today. My theory is that sometime after the besties off collab the three of them just let the numbers get to their head, but not in the way you would think. Back in March 2022 Selen and Nina had great numbers, probably to the dismay of Elira and Millie. Millie in particular was struggling hard with finding a timeslot that worked for her in terms of ccv. Enna on the other hand had just gotten a huge influx of viewers and subs after having her higurashi concert and birthday streams. When the besties collab happen the three of them felt like they were on top of the world, and if the rrat about Elira being a manager is true it lines up perfectly with the time where she would've gotten more managerial responsibilities. It was all a perfect storm that just ended up spiraling out of control.
