No she doesn't. The actual risk of cancer even with the BCRA gene is fairly small, and a double mastectomy doesn't even eliminate that risk. It merely lowers an already low risk.

There are drugs that lower the risk just as much and don't require permanent surgical disfigurement.

>radical mastectomy of both breasts
And you guys think the genetic lottery is just looking good. If this is truly just preventative, then the good news is that there won't be any chemoprevention needed and she could, assuming the surgery went well, she is healthy, and sadly has the money for it, immediately undergo breast reconstruction surgery.
To be sure, very invasive procedures, and things like this are sure to bring me down, hell I don't even watch her/knew she existed before this, but I truly hope that all goes well.
As you guys have said, sure, she doesn't need her breasts to live, but following that logic you don't "need" many things to live, but having being born with all her anatomical and physiological faculties in place, you'd sure as hell miss them. Like it or not, big or small, breasts are a part of a woman's identity, sexual or otherwise.
Godspeed Pomu, I know you will overcome this. You're a magnificently strong person for being so positive about it.

You are truly disabled if you don't realize how important tits are and how traumatic it could be getting them removed.

It's not just unga boonga makes dick hard, the chest is part of the female appeal, and the appeal of a girl is 90% of her self esteem. A lot of girls are insecure about being pettanko, imagine not only becoming pettanko but having your tissue removed till your breastbone, with a ton of fun scars to boot. Imagine dressing after that, imagine dating or having a sex life after that. The sheer about of shame and disgust you'd feel about your own body. There is a reason most patients need therapy afterwards; it's not a fun thing to have to cope with.

Anon...adversity builds personality. She is probably like that because of all the bad luck in her life.

She has the genome for breast cancer so she is getting them removed to prevent herself from almost definitely getting cancer in the future.

>> No.6997783

>>6997653
when you say "definitely", are we talking 50/50 or like legit 100% chance of getting it in the future?

>> No.6997849

>>6997783
Pomu herself said she has around a 60% chance of getting cancer on her Akiba tour stream.

>> No.6997886

50/50 is a gigantic gamble of being fine and being forced to undergo painful and expensive chemotherapy.

>> No.6997964

Shit, so better than a coin flip chance she gets it then. I kinda understand why she feels she has to go through with the surgery. I just hope she's mentally prepared for whatever happens after. I've seen some pics of people post-masectomy and despite being a guy I couldn't help but cringe a bit. I can only imagine what it would feel like if you were on the otherside.

She never said a single word about having a masectomy. Just "surgery" while staying vague on purpose. Relax, everything will be fine.

>> No.6998058

>>6997964
Oh, for sure. As much as a masectomy will hit a woman's confidence in their own body, it'll fuck them up far less in the long term than going through chemo.

We just have to do our bit to make her know how special she is

>> No.6998141

All clues point to masectomy. Small chance that the surgery is for prophylactic oophorectomy, but that's even worse. I'd rather not think of the worse case scenario.

God I hope not.

If that's the case, especially after the news of her family having it, I think she made the final decision to end her bloodline right here so that there won't be future generations of her bloodline suffering the same ailment.
FUCK me bros. This is depressing.
