any mathbros here? I want to write a program that would calculate viewer overlap between small corpo vtubers to get some kind of recommendation engine (if you like this vtuber you might like this one too since they share a lot of viewers). I'd do it like this: use yt-dlp to download chat logs from last month of streams of each vtuber, extract list of names of chatters per vtuber and give them a score based on how many streams they chatted in, if they chatted in all streams they get score: 1, if in 30% of streams score: 0.3 etc., basically regulars get score close to 1, tourists close to 0. Then I can calculate viewer overlap between channel A and B by taking all chatters from A and multiplying their score by their score on channel B, then calculating average. But there's a problem, tourists make a large difference on data, like if there's one tourist magnet stream that doubles chatter amount but only for one stream it will have large impact on result. How should I calculate this instead to have tourists have low impact, preferably without hardcoding magic number like "disregard all chatters with less than 10% chat participation rate"?

just a tweet, the main thought, for me at least since i wasnt coping thinking she was going to another corpo, was that she was just taking time off for mental and waiting for assets since all the other girls are using temp models but she always loved having an expressive high quality model, so i would guess shes still waiting on that to actually return fully but at least its signs of life which is very very nice and has made my monthweek

if you're looking for chat regulars overlap, you probably do want some filtering for one-time visitors. I'd do some test runs to see if 5%, 10%, etc seems more accurate. or add weighting for more chats per stream

how are you supposed to look for vtubers you would like? For other types of media it's easy enough to find stuff you would like by googling and more specific methods/tools exist for more popular stuff but here it feels like there's no actual deliberate method available, you just have to keep watching random streams of random vtubers hoping you will find somebody you will like someday maybe, pretty discouraging
