Not every place is America where you need a car to get anywhere at all. No clue about how it is in Japan, but in Europe most cities have good enough public transit to get by using just that. Car is a luxury/convenience rather than a requirement.

If you live in Tokyo most people get around fine. Lots of public transport active 24/7 and the city is fairly easy to get through on foot.

That being said though, does she have a car? Japan has some pretty solid and cheap cars manufactured there as well as piss cheap EVs from China being dumped in their markets.

For tokyo specifically, pic related is the metro lines. It's rather hard to actually find a justified usage for a car when such public transportation exists. I assume you'd use a car if you want to transport other stuff, if you want to leave the city, if you don't want to deal with the big crowds on the metro itself, or any other special needs.

It's then spitefully allowed to remain in whatever broken state by the leftist trash who run whatever municipality while they steal money because "the colored people haven't complained" aka our primary customers don't care. Anti-car lefties portray cars as some kind of unique new invention that is actually totally weird as if its individuality can just be substituted by any other means of transportation. Roads form the backbone of human civilization since its inception.

european cities were built around pedestrian roads and the occasional goods carriage, individual transport was 99% on foot. interconnectivity between cities was a privileged thing and definitely not for the majority, and the average non-rich intercity traveler was doing so for trading mostly.
the difference between european road-centric cities and american car-centric ones is determined by how usable the road is in general. in europe, roads can be used by everyone, in the US they rather often don't even have a sidewalk, and with how insular the cities are you would need to walk miles until you get out of suburban living areas to a consumer area. also, american cities are pretty much only parking lots and roads, wich leads to bigger sprawel, less connectivity, more distance between actual liveable points.

Where do you think cars were intended to be used? Do you think the vague size of a car was just random?
THEY WERE DESIGNED FOR EXISTING ROADS. Cars exist because of roads because they were modeled to be the same size as horse carriages.
Yes there are certainly bigger cars now and full sized SUVs do not get through every medieval city's alley, but that's not true for the average non-american car. Cars were made to fit on roads, not the other way around.

In japan, you can go basically anywhere at any time because the public transportation is that good, including small towns and whatnot. Unless you specifically want to go to the top of the mountains at 3AM or some other bullshit, of course. Source: been there.
If you mean driving road trip, I see the appeal of being totally free and unbothered, but in europe you can literally drive through countries inside the schengen area without any troubles, and there's much more to see because you're actually changing countries. The best argument against cars is that they are bad for small businesses. If your walking around a city, you might pass by a small business and look inside. European cities are mostly like Japan in terms of ease of access and traversability with public transport. Depends on the country, and also nobody compares to Japanese punctuality, safety, cleanliness and reliability. As flawed as the Japanese systems may be, the European systems are mostly in a worse state because of underfunding, complex layers of public/private ownership and responsibility, and ageing infrastructure. The rural areas and poorer countries have worse public transport but that's irrelevant for city dwellers. The worst public transport I experienced was Italy and Poland. Best is London. As someone who lives in NYC I can confirm this. I hear all the time about how shit our public transport is and blah blah blah, and yeah the MTA is retarded I agree. But I also live on the border of the city, which means sometimes I have to take public transit that isn't run by the city. And I always tell anyone who complains about city transit that doing this will make you wish you were back on city transit. You don't know how good you have it until you've seen just how bad it is everywhere else.

Yes, for very old cities like you find in Italy and a lot of central Europe, having a car becomes difficult because of space and size issues. I have traveled Italy myself and public transit was fine for the most part, other than them being lazy cunts and schedules not meaning shit.
From my time in London the public transport was a vast improvement over my country with the underground and is probably the most efficient in all of Europe.
My country, which is not poor by any margin, has a shitty public transit in the bigger cities which are troubled by monthly downtimes and poor quality with high cost.

if you live at tokyo, osaka or kyoto you dont need a car, more than that you are retarded if you actually use a none company car in the city, outside those cities you do need a car, but thats not enough, you have to be expert at japanese and you have to look like one, people at the suburbs use to be extremely racist.

No. That is the cultural and holiday capital. SP is the economic powerhouse of Brazil. It has a population size almost double that of Rio. There is a good reason why SP is said to the NYC of Brazil while Rio is the LA of Brazil.

Parking is the only part of that list that isn't universally true.
Well, I guess in burgerland you can get away with having a car that may fall apart under you on the highway, but that's one of burgerland's shortcomings.

So I see a lot of people being racist as fuck in the comments over here. The reason why you don't go to NYC is because it's so expensive that it's not worth living there. Just live in Jersey. Yeah you might get stabbed but you're not going to lose all your money to the greedy landlord.

Longest I waited for a train was a shinkansen for 20 minutes where I missed the previous one the moment I got there. Also for some reason one train skip the stop and I had to find out a way to go the other way to get to Mt. Inari in Kyoto. I do highly suggest Kyoto, just make sure to get the Kansai thru pass or keep a lot of exact change on you.

>for some reason one train skip the stop
happened to me a couple of times before I noticed some lines operate several types of trains, some of which skip some stations, for example having a regular, express and rapid-express trains, in which the latter two skip some stations. Once you take notice of this and read the map and trains signs more carefully, this is easy to deal with.
