Accelerating the demise of vtubing with drama will not help Hololive like some retards seem to believe for some reason. The current equilibrium is of Hololive and Nijisanji as the pillars that keep Japanese vtubing stable. Here's my best interpretation:

A weakened Nijisanji is an easy target for people who believe that it represents idol culture (or people who just jump on the drama bandwagon). These people will gain strength and credibility and mislead others into believing that Nijisanji is bad because of idol culture, and not just because Nijisanji is a shitbox. Westoid normalnigger cattle will associate idol culture with vtubing because that's their only exposure to it and therefore the reputation of vtubing will tank in the west.

But what Niji is trying to do is working, it's just not working for them. Holo and many of the smaller companies are seeing growth after growth. What investors are going to see is those smaller companies that could use investment to increase their growth and an opening in the market ready for them to fill, offering higher returns for lower investment. You're insane if you think the response will be, "Well this one specific company was mismanaged so all these other clearly successful companies must also be worthless." If that was how the market worked every fucking industry would have dissolved years ago. This supermarket chain went bankrupt therefore we're never investing in supermarkets ever again. Hololive's current weakness is the lack of opportunities to get some exclusivity deals with big companies inside of Japan, they try to countermeasure this by promoting themselves outside of the country as much as they can but it's still not enough to make them stand on par with Niji as of today unfortunately.

Hopefully things can change for the better throughout the year if Niji keeps taking Ls and VSPO doesn't increase in popularity/becomes IPO (they been trying on getting some exclusivity deal with SPWN last time I checked).

Other corpos like Phase and Vshojo show that vtubing is profitable and can function outside of Japan. HoloEN gets away with running an idol company outside of Japan by being the gorilla in the room.
