I'm actually a little scared because my oshi had bad opsec.
I ran her art through through a style analyzer that surprisely connected it to a FA account. That old name lead to a personal Twitter she used as a blog since 2013, which lined up with other info about her that was shared on stream. No irl stuff, just online.
I really don't care about her personal life woes or all the fetish drawings, but she's obviously keeping it hidden for a reason.

I was hoping for something, well, smaller. I’ve never been to a convention (of any kind beyond work related stuff) and in my mid twenties as a single professional I feel like I’d be very out of place, if that makes sense. The clips I’ve seen of small vtubers getting lots of donations tend to make them feel special by supporting some opinion that makes them feel unique. I’m just a crazy stalker who really doesn’t watch vtubers so take anything I say with a three cubic inch grain of salt, but I would look to tell a generic “life story” that creates a connection to your viewers, and puts them in a place where they can empathize with you. This then rolls into the encouraging the protect and provide instincts: if you can clean up a real story enough to not be even remotely identifying but that has a point of a time you experienced something negative that would be in common with what you’re audience has experienced (loosely embarrassing stories about being in a stressful situation of your own accidental making that you narrowly escape mass embarrassment seem to be good choices).

If you’re not large enough to have a huge pool of viewers with regular donors, you’re trying to build emotional buy in on why they should like you instead of any other (to them) generic vtuber. Appealing to a (perceived) shared challenge that you both overcame is a fairly easy and reliable sales tactic for any product (including you).
