I encountered vtubers and vsj through Momo. She was kinda wild at collab games, and she sang with a guitar pretty well. Originally I was watching fleshtubers in a big collab, and clicking into momo’s pov I noticed she was different. Anyways eventually there was some contact with nyan and mouse, and those two end up my first two follows from vsj. I did move away from momo though, like she got hit by a car or something so didn’t stream, refuse to sing, and glued herself to 17.8%. I was watching Clemps and he raided Nyan.
This was October 2020, so just ahead of VShojo forming. At that time I usually dipped from raids, but I recognized Nyan's name for obvious reasons and decided to see what she was up to.

I had watched Kizuna AI when she first started, but didn't keep up with her or discover that there was a scene/industry building up around her. So Nyan is really where it started for me.

My first exposure to vtubers were old Kizuna Ai videos, probably a FNAF one. For VShojo it was Mouse who showed up in recommended channels for me one day back in 2020, It was during her first attempt at Alien Isolation. I started watching Mel and Zen too in the following months.
Also I knew of Nyan from her old videos and covers but hadn't watched her streams till some time after her vtuber debut.

I've only really cared that much about subathons where the streamer is there most of the time and Mouse seems to be the only vtuber that does it, being on 16-20 hours, passing out or almost passing out is a big part, and waiting for the model to wake up, seeing it toss at night.

Subathons were a bit fun during the pandemic and luckily I was on a break during some days through the Kuro "subathon" but I don't know, I think this yearly spam is really just okay? I think I started to get Vei's point, if you take the parasocial aspect of "my girl all day, just for me?", is just really long streams with no down time, a huge part of the fandom and the people around it get dragged into it, which sometimes leads into less variety all around. I do not care about Mouse waiting 3rd place in some dick measure context if it's not going to be good, and this is not just the chill time or game spamming complain, I'm just so fed up with it. Kuro's subathon felt weirdly good for change, but since it was only a subathon in terms of getting money, it was another tale. Kuro keep well with his community and it felt like long separated streams that I could actually catch up.

I want to trust Mouse and her typical "NONO BUT THIS YEAR IT WILL BE FILLED WITH EVENTS AND CRAZY SHIT PEW PEW" but idk, I just simply can't, this year will be the same, people hating on it, more fights, more baits around here, and the stream quality probably would go from good segments to just really boring ones.
