VShojo does some shit in Japan as well. I don't follow them, but things are thrown around. I don't think you can sidestep Japan in vtubing unless you go full NA indie and I don't think Selen should close that door. Not to mention that even if she does want to return to her old account she'll need to commission a better model than the one she had before joining.

Going off-topic a little, to your point, they will speak up and help you if you live in a Western-aligned country. But generally, I don't find Canada to have a good footing when it comes to enforcement or forcing the issue in courts and etc. when it comes to corporate cases and especially non-aligned countries. Usually, it needs the help of the US to back them in the international sphere to get anything done.

Problem is if they slap her with a lawsuit, she'll be tried in absentia. Then the moment she steps foot in Japan she'll be in hot water. Unless she plans on contesting the lawsuit in Japan, which would be a massive expense. And it'd be in Japan because I'm 100% the contract is considered legally Japanese.

I don't think at this point she has any way to choose her fate. If Nijisanji wanted to Zaion her, they will do it. The only thing saving her from such a fate is the fact she is the one remaining symbol of NijiEN and she went out on a high profile incident. If they decide to shit on her after that and Zaion her, it will blow up really quickly and I would doubt they can save their stock price from taking an actual hit. Losing ID and KR is one thing, losing EN is probably a serious thing for investors.

two reasons, firstly, niji management tells it's talents they're worthless and of no value with out niji. secondly niji has been pretty litigious against peple they deemed to sully their brand and while that's mostly been met with failure it hasn't stopped them trying
