When I first heard she was leaving, I thought, "yeah, she'll probably go there". But it feels like that'd be the most disappointing choice out of return scenarios now. She'd get some more viewers, probably more money, and could do everything up to doing face streams if she wanted. Song perms might be easier, I guess? It just seems so ambitionless. It's not a 100% audition heavy role like acting to get the job, anon, especially when you have friends in the company to vouch for you. Maybe they want some inpromptu or homework video to see how you do but that's about it. I doubt that would pose a challenge to Pomu given her experience by now. Only indies trying to get into Holo would experience a pretty dramatic hurdle there.
Compare that to tech which I work in, 99% of interviews even if you have experience involve solving several hard problems on a whiteboard to complete strangers and letting them essentially haze you from a technical point of view and you can fail if you don't solve it efficiently enough, run out of time, or don't explain yourself enough. I would wager acting and any other audition-based interview for a job without being a superstar is the same too.

Vshojo feels like a downer option because it's not growth, it's a fall-back option for those who already retired. Of course everything is in her hands from there on out but we've all seen how it usually goes. It's just really unfortunate that there isn't a viable "4th option" out there that she could take.
I'm sure if she applied she could get into Hololive, but I don't know if she wants to deal with another JP corpo with restrictive permissions. In the last few weeks, Pomu brought up things like song perm issues, not being able to play games with mods, having to change things in her MV because management didn't approve of the content, etc. Sure, Hololive wouldn't be as dismissive of big opportunities like Nijisanji was, but I think Anycolor's management burned her on working for a JP corpo again.
On the other hand, there's Vshojo. It's not exactly a full-on corpo, she wouldn't have to deal with many of the issues she was getting frustrated with, and things would be more in her control. But at the same time, I do see why some people are hesitant about her joining there. I don't feel like Pomu's streaming style would mesh well with twitch, and because Vshojo is more of a western group, they wouldn't have the same japan-centric opportunities as a JP group would.
Honestly, Nijisanji EN would have been the PERFECT place for her, the perfect medium, if only Anycolor didn't go public and switch focus from growing their talents to growing the shareholder's pocketbooks by focusing on cheap, quick profits over long-term growth.
There's too big a gap between Holo/Niji/VSJ, and the groups below them. I know ones like V4M and Idol try to advertise these grand sign-on packages or quick 3D or amazing profit cuts, but I (and maybe Pomu) don't feel like any of that is feasible for them to maintain in the long run. (although maybe that's not such a bad thing - take advantage of the unsustainable benefits ASAP, and if the company goes under, they may allow you to just keep everything, or at the very least give you the option to buy yourself out from them)

Nijisanji was everything that suited her when she started. Like those NJU watchalongs or participating in group covers/ karaokes, she could talk to people who watched vtubers that weren't rebranded Twitch slop, and she could indulge in her weeb love.
But then Anycolor fucked literally everything up and made every wrong decision.

day-to-day I think there wasn't that much lazulight interaction. collabs were uncommon enough to be special every time. I think special events are going to hit hard though. lazu anniversary, future concerts, wave merch and sponsor stuff, and maybe a drought of branch projects.

I think it was only perfect for her on paper. Aside from going public I think a lot of people and Livers hoped Nijisanji would run EN branch a bit differently to JP. But time has shown it was run the same with the same issues that run deep in JP as well as other issues on top of that because it is an overseas branch. I think Pomu may gave hit that don't meet your heroes with Niji in a lot of ways. Her second year birthday and her third year birthday were signs of that. Culminating in the graduation with no JPs exKRe or exIDs (that are extinct at this point) being there for the totsu and uncertain Selen situation hanging in the air.

What is there to do? Most vtubers are comfortable doing their own thing and entertaining their audience and all retired vtubers do exactly that no matter what their aspirations in the past may have been. Activism is annoying at best if it's forced on you. "Image of the branch" my ass, you know what would've improved that? 3/4 of the branch not being /here/ 24/7 and letting that affect them. I am not gonna shittalk other Livers and instead say that Nijisanji rewards laziness and being like everybody else in EN more than anything. Organizing? Scheduling is a nightmare and staff can just cockblock you at any moment. Creative projects? Perms hell and can be canned at any time. Even after they are done. Getting perms for an interesting not flavour of the month game? Good luck. Not even the same perms as JP. Just play the same games everyone else does, do collabs in the 4 same games, maybe do handcams and don't try anything crazy and that is it. That is EN. Yes a lot of the hires are also bad at communication, ditch collabs and shut down ideas but that is a secondary issue.

I get it. Elira's doing a good job of that and so is Finana currently. But you have so many other people in EN who have taken every opportunity to not stream, who don't plan projects, who stick to Valorant or crapass FotM.
Pomu leaving hurts as much as it does because of what the rest of the branch is or has become and none of them care about improving.

I tried to watch Elira's memership stream but I simply can't take anymore of the HBD beggars. I hope where ever Pomu ends up in she will stop doing it.

Not everyone is cut out to do what Pomu did. You bring up Petra, but nearly every time someone puts out a video or does stuff with their graphics, she has done something for them. Even Selen talked about how hard it was to get people to do things for events because of scheduling and time zones, or even general disinterest.

The bad image of the branch broke out of /here/ ages ago. It's seen virtually everywhere now. From videos on Youtube, to chats on Twitch, to comments on Twitter, even directly at the talents themselves.
Directly confronting it is often not the right thing to do, but choosing to ignore it can be equally as incorrect of a move. That's how NijiEN has gotten to the point that it's in now.

Elira may not openly be one but she's still considered to be one behind the scenes by several of the livers, maybe less leader and more like group mom. I think she doesn't get enough credit because she's not creating these giant projects that get a bunch of attention and traction. Kinda frustrated me to see so many people talk about how Pomu was always the one big pillar of NijiEN and this and that while ignoring how much Elira has acted as the heart of the branch, from defending livers from management to making sure they're all heard and included in voice calls. Her biggest problem is just that she's just pretty passive most of the time and doesn't want to cause trouble.

Pomu was one of the pillars if you even want to call it that but mostly people say it because she is gone. Kind of easier to realize that after the fact for some. I agree Ewiwa is another big part of EN. All of Lazulight are. Remember Finana always tries to help the newbies and does things behind the scenes. Selen is (was...?) huge with being proactive with trying to get perms and organizing things. Petra obviously works in the behind the scenes mines. So does Ike though I fo not like his mixing most of the time.

She's grown so much since joining NijiEN and her friendliness and tech help has always been a great boon for the branch. Especially when she's so young compared to a lot of the others. I hope that both Elira and Finana can continue to step a little more outside of their comfort zones to help fill the gap that Pomu's exit is leaving within NijiEN.
