I still like HololiveEN but I live for NijiEN collabs. To this day I still struggle to watch HoloEN collabs because they’re awkward most of the time and a lot of snarky comments towards each other end with stiff reactions. The way Lazulight shits on each other and laughs at each other is great. Finana asking Elira if she’s met god after Elira showed her her canon age was the first time I had an audible reaction from an EN vtuber. I dunno tho, give it a few more months and we’ll see if my opinion on them is similar to yours OP.

I think one of the appeals of Nijisanji is that they're genuine to themselves and to other chuubas. Watching NijiEN is anything but that. Their interactions on Twitter felt really forced. It's like they're being typed by mid schoolers. They acting cutesie is really jarring.

No, you're onto something. I've been watching Pomu streams ever since Lazulight debuted and for the past couple of weeks her brand of wacky has become grating to me. I used to see her as overly cheerful because she seemed to get along with everyone without fail, but goddamn I can't get over her fake ojii-san shtick and yuribaiting, on top of the piles of big PP energy xD cracks. It's kinda grating, and it's at it's worst during their signature collabs. I'm probably just gonna take a break from watching the NijiENs for a while.

I love Finana's dirty jokes. It feels 100% genuine.
I've followed her closely and she is very consistent with what she claims to enjoy and what she actually does.
She genuinely likes fart jokes and sex jokes and all that. Her timing is perfect, she finds just the right time to drop one of her jokes.
And the delivery is so good everyone is left confused wondering if she's serious and it's intentional or if it's just accidental.
And the innocent and pure front she puts clashes so delightfully with all the does its such a gap moe.
All her dirty jokes come off as innocent and childish.
She really is sheltered princess who grew up to enjoy the dirty stuff she was forbidden from enjoying before.
But she's too much of a mess to actually go out.
In short, I don't think she attentionwhores, she's just being herself.

I agree for the most part. NijiEN feels like they're trying too hard. Elira is the only one I feel got the natural vibes down correctly but she's a zoomer.
Selen looks like she's on the right track as well so maybe there's hopes but we'll see how she turns out.
Unfortunately collabs suck because elira is stuck with a literal nobody who's desperate for attention, and an ironic weeb who won't commit to bits because she's self conscious about her dying uterus.

The smaller groups have a better group dynamic. Watch prism or tsunderia collabs and compare their interactions to both niji and holo. It's night and fucking day how natural and friendly the groups are with each other. I can't imagine the nijiEN group have any level of similar banter as tsunderia collabs.

They're okay. I enjoy watching them now and then, but if I didn't have friends who watch and discuss them, I'd probably forget about them most times. I think part of the problem is that 2434 management took the safe route and picked some people who have already been doing this and didn't really direct them to do anything different, as opposed to HoloEN where talents with a slightly broader range of experience were chosen. I am somewhat enjoying Lovecock more than any of the first wave, though. Maybe they'll all get better over time.
