It wasn't like there was a sudden change, she just took a small break that was just long enough that she felt like she'd have to explain it, the anxiety of thinking about that made her take a longer break, and it spirals from there. Content creators do this literally all the time, I couldn’t even list the number I've seen do this, it’s just a mundane part of watching content creators. A lot of them also feel like they then have to make their return "worth the wait" in some way and that just gets more impossible the longer they wait. I don't see how her genmates responses don't fit in with that. The answer to the problem is very literally just "start streaming regularly again". There's no external fix, it's just something Gura has to force herself to do all on her own.

Going into Advent debuts, she probably felt like it was a good chance to get back to 'normal' and 'how things used to be'. We can be outwardly supportive and patient, but that doesn't erase the feelings of frustration we've also been dealing with.
I was a member for close to 3 years, and bought her daki and other merch, but I have kept a healthy degree of separation in my parasocial relationship. Imagine how the ones who are unironically in love with her feel, or don't because all you have to do is look around to see what a lack of meds does to a motherfucker.

There are plenty of bad actors of course, but a lot of the "whining" comes from genuine fans like me yelling into the void that is this god forsaken board as a coping mechanism instead of trying to bottle it up or doing something more extreme.

What's sad is that most of this could have been so easily avoided if it was nipped in the bud early on. We don't need the details of her life story, just something like "Hey I'm going on a hiatus for personal reasons. Thanks for your patience and support, I'll try to come back when I can". Even the most menhera messes do something similar in these cases, but she was silent for so long that by the time she did tell us about the "new normal" and her burnout the damage had already been done and doesn't seem to be healing any time soon.

I really do hope she can resolve whatever is ailing her for this year, but even if she does I can't just ignore what has happened and go back to how I felt before (and that sucks).

When they stream far more hours than Gura I find it hard to believe that other EN talents would look up to her if they only considered her to be a good entertainer. They keep saying that Gura is a kind person and that seems important because she must be doing something in HoloEN that causes people to view her actions that way. The previous winter there were those mysterious health breaks with Ina and Gura but now there are 3 talents taking a long hiatus at the same time.

The most likely scenario is she's fallen back into the bottle. And/or she is medicated.
It's pretty much the ONLY thing that can keep a chuuba from streaming regularly for 1+ year while also being too yabai to be honest about. "Struggling with an addiction" is not a romantic or holesum reason to be on break, compared to dealing with a serious illness or family issues. So it can only be handwaved and rug-swept as "personal issues".

I do sympathize with her if she has, struggling with an addiction is a tough thing to break and people underestimate how badly alcohol can fuck your life up sometimes. I think the main thing that rubs people the wrong way is just the general lack of communication, but if it is that, it's probably not just trying to keep up the nice image of Gura in public but she probably also feels really ashamed about it.
I really hope she is genuinely getting help with it, if that is what it is, and not struggling on her own.
