I've come to the conclusion that the higher management doesn't want EN to do anything too ambitious and just focus on streaming. So they don't need to invest a lot of resources into them. They saw the success of Luxiem and how they didn't need a lot of management/resources since they just streamed and think that should be applied to everyone else in EN.
Selen is one of the few members of EN who actually takes the time to plan out bigger events. So of course she butted heads with higher management a lot more than the other members.

it's cause there's a large group of people that take any shred of news about selen and present it in as anti-management of an angle as possible so they can post their "selen come home" memes for clout
other ENs complain about their problems pretty frequently but no one ever talks about it unless it's selen or pomu. coincidentally the two nijiENs with the most graduation beggers on this board
easy example is the sanrio collab and how people only latched on to selen being sad about not getting that opportunity even though several other nijis like Maria and Uki did as well. another example is that people to this day still think management banned her from hosting international tournaments despite the holoniji apex tourney happening earlier this month
