I been watching since 2018 and for me it's kind of a dead medium. Every vtuber blends into the other, every stream is like every other stream.

People are obsessed with numbers, drama or comparing the small differences between streamers because there is nothing interesting to watch or talk about.

I do wish to move on from vtubing but it feels like all media in general is stunted, games, anime, movies, everything has become more safe and homogenized, there is nothing to look forward to.

Indeed, VR and AI might go somewhere but it's so dry right now. I was very into AI at first since the creations were so strange it felt like a completely new medium, a lot of designs I never saw before, but now it's all kind of the same pretty pictures.

I enjoy VR but I haven't played much since Alyx. Well technology gave birth to vtubers, only another tech breakthrough can bring new things along. Gotta wait I guess.

All the scandals and shit that happened in 2019 that destroyed the golden era and led to the current NijiHolo duopoly has really put a damper on this whole medium. The only avenue out is progression of 3DVR space, but not many companies are investing in that space for VTubing.

I think lumping all vtubers into one blob is kind of unfair. Following a certain group of vtubers with their own in side jokes and community is what counts the most for long term entertainment. But older vtuber groups like Myth for instance are kind of hitting a rough patch. Where they start sounding like robots impersonating their most popular catch phrases.

I think the same thing that happened with wresting will happen with vtubers. Eventually people got bored from the characters and performances and put more important into gossiping and digging into their daily lives, we are at that stage.

But after that the wrestlers starting creating personas for the real life too, creating disinformation about their daily lives to generate more interest. So far with vtubers there is an anti PL stance but some crafty fuck will generate a very dramatic but artificial IRL storyline that will generate a lot of gossip to fuel their vtuber streams because there is nothing to talk about with vtubing anymore.

This biggest cope I've seen is saying that Mori and Kiara are the one's carrying Myth. That's only if you completely ignore the fact that they were the ones who dragged Myth across the mud and gave them a bad reputation to begin with for 3 years now
