How can a socially awkward person perform in front of a large audience? How does it even work? Like, too shy to talk with single person you know IRL while speaking freely to 10,000 strangers, knowing at least some of them are jerking off at this moment.
How can somebody who earns thousands of dollars per hour just for being girl and making funny noises lack self-confidence?
How can somebody who beloved by millions, gets tons fan letters, people who are so devoted they literally died thinking about you, still be depressed?
How can somebody being put in a work environment that more resembles slice-of-life anime about high school girls than an actual job still be lonely?
How can somebody who basically won a jackpot by being in the right place at the right time and caught a hype wave without having any particularly useful IRL skills or talents call herself a looser?
How being stupid or even retarded can be an advantage over being smart?
Why people prefer watching somebody playing games badly over somebody who plays perfect?
How can watching a woman eating potato chips at night and occasionality crying be considered an entertainment?
How can thousands of people be genuinely worried and express concerns about somebody who has everything that they never will? Chuubas have fame, respect, huge and almost passive income (stream 1 hour in 2 months and still get more than most people get in a year), attention, friends, sex (their fans may be not ever able score no matter how desperate they are, but for their oshis it's not even a question, even if they aren't doing it), but yet it's their fans who have nothing in life but a rope to tie a noose still feel pity towards them and are in need to save them from getting 1,000,000 subs too late.
Does this world even makes any sense at all?

No. And it hasn't since long before vtubers. Most of this shit isn't actually new at all, the insanity is just more apparent now that it's easily accessible.

It's completely different. I'm the furthest thing from an extrovert (though not a COMPLETE sperg like Aqua) but I'm completely comfortable talking and performing on stage in front of thousands. I guess it's like, the audience-performer relationship has a completely different dynamic to normal social situations.

It all makes sense, but that doesn't mean the answers are any good.

What the fuck is so hard to understand about any of this? It's easier when the peopel aren't there, imposter syndrome, "just be happy" isn't a cure for depression, because they're still alone in a room while doing it, literally answered that question yourself as right place right time feeds into imposter syndrome, because charisma matters more than other qualities in streaming, because of the same answer as the previous question, because of empathy, and yes if you're not a dumbass.

It's the hidden truth that you don't matter in the grand scheme of things
all humans feel it to a different degree and it pains and binds them
