In art I think playing to your strengths is often the worst thing you can do. I really only think I'm good at writing comedy/satire so my nanowrimo book was a serious fantasy. I always think about how the gurren lagann anime team had mech animators do character scenes and character animators draw the mechs sometimes, to help them get out of their comfort zone and learn. Try to challenge yourself anon, you might find something new you really like.
