I just finished watching a favorite western Vtuber of mine.
She was streaming Jackbox party games. It was like a throwback to 2014 twitch except maybe less toxic. I did not join the games but I enjoyed watching. As of late I have taken a more hands off form of engagement by sticking to emotes when interacting and for the most part just kicking back and watching as I would in a 1,000 + averaging channel.
The vtubers don't seem to bothered by this form of engagement and I find it to be far less taxing. Do I get subs gifted to me less often this way? Yes. I almost well actually I never get gifted subs anymore with this approach. I feel like much less of a burden and much less abrasive to the streamer and fellow viewers this way. Sure the streamer makes less money and there's less overall engagement per stream but less attention is drawn to me and the overall quality of the stream is improved and sometimes that is worth more than a $5 gifted sub.
TLDR irritation can grow pearls for the oyster but sometimes peace of mind is worth more than jewels.

Dumb aspie here. Do you viewers really not like big notifs for following? I tend to value them all the same because they're all very big things for me. I guess with that information in mind now, I intend to do something lowkey for follows, compared to donations or cheers or subs. Would that be better?
