That's gonna happen no matter what and is one of the main reasons why I think many of the boys are going hard on their Eigo reps. Assuming Cover doesn't dissolve or the vtuber audience mostly moves on (i.e. it deflates back to Hololive Gen 1& Gen 2 numbers) to whatever the new thing is then an EN branch is inevitable. The best thing that Cover could do is get a guy who has streamed for a long ass time and has had success as the overall branch manager but won't need to make it an overwhelming full-time job. Basically a guy like Woolie who has more or less transitioned to newer, less intensive projects but knows the game because he did it for so long. That'd prolly kill almost every major issue in it's bed. Either way, it isn't like Holostars hasn't had a number of fairly controversial events go on behind the scenes already.

Unfortunately it won't look that great because of how Cover's app work with different objects that aren't on the model itself. I really hope they make a big version 2.0 in the near future to make those interactions more precise and less awkward. In the same day we managed to see that, with Shien's model being really high quality, but there was a clear difference between how he needed his weapons spawned on his model or the way he held Nekoyama and how Mashiro was actually interacting with things like his shovel or the body bag.

The boys actually don't want it. Most Stars fans don't want it too. Executives would prefer first release much more profitable branches like EN2 or JP6, extremely maybe StarsJP4. Actual candidates are better off starting indies instead of nerfing themselves with the current state of Holostars brand.

I think it'll become inevitable after their first big live show. At least I do hope with that and all of them having 3D models (and maybe a Gen 4) they finally become popular enough to stand their own ground in the greater Holopro fandom. But those two events are much more important right now than rushing an EN branch, even if Cover suffers the same problem of losing the initiative that Anycolor had with Nijisanji EN.

Completely anecdotal, but all of my buddies who also have an interest in Hololive (they don't watch the Stars because no Eigo combined with no cute girls) want an EN branch as a new friend simulator. The primary advantage this would offer over others is that they are inside of the Holo ecosystem and thus could more easily do collabs with known quantities that people already like. The boys have a very good dynamic and definitely offer stuff the girls don't, but convincing someone to watch them is rather hard when clips are few and they don't speak JP. I've been membered to Pizzadad and Oga for a while now, but the closest I could get anyone I know to watch any of the guys was a few clips and Shien's 3D. Also, as a counterpoint, Cover knows EN speakers is a known quantity. If they are still going to make ID's then it is nonsensical to try and say that there is no demand.

First any of your successful streamers should want to join holostars in the first place, if they only wanted to be vtubers they are better starting as indies since they are successful and have a fanbase, right? Niji is or was making EN males auditions and none of your successful streamers showed interest. Even if one of those streamers actually enters holostars I want something clear here: understand that he won't make it easier for you to join holopro, you won't be getting closer to the girls.

The stars don't want it, their fans don't want it. They even feel nervous about a possible jp gen4 and this sentiment is shared by some parts of their fanbases too.

If you what you want is to enjoy male vtubers under the holopro flag then go do your reps. Wait for the Niji EN males debut if you just want male vtubers.

You're right on the order, it will happen sooner or later. I was just annoyed because he was saying it was inevitable without justifying why. Once Holostars is more consolidated and well established, it will happen, in that sense it is true.
But there is no point in rushing out and do like early Nijisanji where they fucked up their foreign branches because of the lack of care and lots of generation releases.
I hope anyway that them releasing EN males will make demand shut up for a while even if I don't believe so, because NijiID already have decent streamers but people don't especially check it out.
And once again, the type of streamers who would help out develop an EN branch don't have something to gain out of it. Those who have potential to become big will either won't use an avatar or be independant so they can't be limited by permissions. The only ones who will apply will most probably be literal leeches like some of the names which were circulating just before NijiEN's start.

Yeah, but I think you're tackling the issue the wrong way. If you compare with Hololive, clips and translators were already flourishing and with a big community before releasing an EN branch. What you are suggesting is skipping steps and directly creating a branch from nothing. It may or may not work, but a non-negligible part won't check out the original branch at all, like what is currently the case for HoloEN. So people pretending it will help StarsJP are short-sighted. By the way, I don't even know how they would be organized (3 people gen, 5 people gen) If it happens like HoloID1, there are more chances they would collab much more with EN indies than their own branch because of them being unknown and the barrier language like in before the whole PekoMoona thing.
The more I think about it, the more I figure out about unknown parameters that need to be sorted out beforehand. It is not that easy to release new gens and most of the newfags who ask for them don't understand it

Yeah, currently I can't see a lot of actual Holostars fans applying for an EN branch.
