this is mainly an issue for indies, since they are even closely connected to the avatar and often mix IRL with their chuuba. They try to make you like their real form by telling lies and seem relatedable. You have seen the kind that pretend to be something they are not, like shut in autists and videogame players. They try to seem "based" only to tweet about their stacy lifestyle on another account. They scam and lie without remorse or thought.

For me it comes down to if they keep their past deeds carry over into their vtuber persona.
For all the terrible shit Froot's done in her PL if she kept it there and just did her thing I would watch her, as she can be pretty entertaining. Problem is she likes to bring politics and real world issues onto streams and just turns her into a drama magnet.

There are examples I won't name of HoloJPs who also have an extremely sketchy PLs who don't bring any of the past into streams, and they're much more enjoyable to watch for it.

Depends on the extent of the past sins I suppose. Ultimately if something bothers you so much that it takes you out of the experience then there isn't much you can do about that. I would consider Froot like that for me since cheating is pretty unforgivable as far as i'm concerned, especially without making any effort to make amends. I understand that this may not bother some people though since it was a quite few years ago so it's really only my personal hangups that won't let me just ignore it.

As long as they grew of it, and accept it, it's fine. I think that's more of a personal question than anything else. How much does it personally bother you to watch a chuuba who has done something like cheating on her partner in the past or had/has a whore lifestyle of sex and drugs? If it bothers you, then don't watch her. If you don't like it but you separate the entertainment from the entertainer's personal life, then go ahead keep watching. If you actually like her for those things, then I guess she's your oshi now.
