Why is /vt/ lying to me? I was always told that 4 twitch view = 1 YT view

Ignore everything /#/ says. Vtubers get less viewers when they're not streaming on their main platform because not all of their fans follow them to the other platform. This works both ways.

to a surprise of no one: /#/ is a lair of braindead faggots
most of them are mentally female, and more concerned with dramafaggotry and raiding generals than with actual noombers
there's like 3 guys who can properly noomber in that entire thread

Are you actually dense? Streamer randomly streams on different platform, gets less viewers, surprise pikachu face. Hell most hololive fans specifically hate twitch, they're just going to go watch one of the other dozen hololive streamers streaming on youtube at that time.

It was more like a 1 to 0.7 ratio, but now it's closer to 1:1 again after the aggressive ad changes.

# is terminally /here/ they hate everything that isn't blue dorito and worship numbers. they don't even watch their owns streamers. They have a hate for twitch because their shitty internet can't handle the website.

I just don't like Twitch. I like to swap between streams and videos, and it's nice not having to switch tabs to do that.

Twitch viewers and youtube viewers are very resistant to switching to the oher platform.
Twitch and youtube calculate ccv differently, with twitch being more generous and youtube undercounting to be more accurate for advertiers.

This is apparently far too complicated for the average poster

>> No.63227467

All the "top streamers" on Twitch use deceptive tactics like opening their stream tab multiple times on mute to artificially boost their views. If they aren't doing it themselves, then they likely have fans that are secretly doing it instead to "help support them." Sure, some outsiders to the platform may not know these tricks and even their fans might not know, but that doesn't mean those bugs are gone. That's why Twitch views are worth less. From a marketing perspective, 1 Twitch view is worth 1/4 YouTube view just because you can't tell if the view is from a real person or form a person's 1000th muted tab.

YouTube recently changed the CCV math. Now it's a near-match to Twitch CCV calculations.

Waiting room recovery has been faster.
I'm sure you have proof for the second part.
Amongst other things it doesn't change the fact that you can count as a viewer on multiple streams on twitch at once, but only one at a time on youtube

>> No.63228875

>>63228304
This isn't even remotely true lmao
Twitch still counts viewers that are tabbed out and muted, as well as embedded on the home page or other sites.
The only thing Youtube changed was how people with adblock are counted, and even that we don't know the full extent of.

I don't know about lily, but Filian doesn't surprise me. Her clip game is strong and she's one of the few vtubers who has more followers on youtube despite that not being her main platform. I guess tiktok viewers are more easily converted to youtube viewers than to twitch viewers.

>The only thing Youtube changed was how people with adblock are counted
Check adblock usage rates lmao. Better yet: check how much of the viewership is even on PC. Not nearly enough to explain multiple vtubers getting x2 CCV.

Who are getting 2x CCVs?
Just curious, because there is kind of a big difference going from 50 to 100 viewers and 4,000 to 8,000
As far as I know, none of the 4+views EN chuuba on YT (mainly HoloEN and NijiEN) has gotten 2x overall CCV recently

It's Matsuri. It's Valorant. I'm surprised she had those numbers. Why was she streaming it on twitch? She knows it will decrease the viewers on her yt channel and she'll earn less. She doesn't want to risk her yt numbers.

Idk about a 4:1 ratio, but when a JP member (Miko I think) started a stream on YouTube, had some trouble on the platform, then moved it to Twitch, she had the same viewership, despite the expected loss of like 10-20% when switching platforms. And this was a random MC stream 2 years ago.
YouTube has gotten stricter about view counting since then, so no doubt the numbers shown are inaccurate (proven by YouTube chat polls as well), but unless a streamer actually tells us if they see a different number of viewers than what is shown, or they achieve a 100% cross-platfirm viewership transfer during a test stream, we'll never know how big the discrepancy is.
