>What is /kayfabe/?
Kayfabe is a thread for viewers to find streamers devoted to playing characters, who care about their lore/ world building and integrate it into their streams, the discussion of vtuber ARGs, and meta /vt/ conspiracy theories/lore/ larping/ ARGs. Vtubers who do offline content are also welcome.

>Why /kayfabe/?
Because we must prove Hana Machia wrong. Lets move beyond e-thots with anime avatars. We must become our characters!

>Do AI vtubers count as doing kayfabe?
Well yes and no. It's complicated. Can they keep up with their own lore? Are they just being themselves? These are the questions that keep us awake at night.
In any case feel free to post them, specially if they make args.

We must first believe the lies, for how else they can become truth?

Kayfabe is really an under utilized niche. There is so much that can be done by a creative person. Literally act out your story. Be the character. There is so much potential for story driven, episodic storytelling/acting.

But I get it. Its hard. There is only so much character to go around. And when you need to stream +60 hours a month, eventually you go "well chat. I went to the DMV today..."

The only solution is to NOT stream
Streaming leads to burnout as you have to come up with content on the fly and maintain character while simultaneously doing something else (videogame, art, zatsu)
Returning to video content like 2017 vtubers is the only way

You are right. You should write a story and then perform it when ready and then don't overstay your welcome.

Some vtubers these days are doing short ~1 hour streams based round some kind of theme or roleplay setting. I think this is in the right direction. But its only for that stream.
"seasonal" story arcs i think would work. 1 hour a week. Just like a tv show. Get all your best bits together.
