Randonneuring (also known as Audax in the UK, Australia and Brazil) is a long-distance cycling sport with its origins in audax cycling. In randonneuring, riders attempt courses of 200km or more, passing through predetermined "controls" (checkpoints) every few tens of kilometres. Call me a schizo, but I suspect that last night's mess was a deliberate attempt to start drama, likely from a third party. There's actually a pretty serious and substantive conversation to be had about /here/chuubas and whatever future they may or may not have, (especially about what that future would need to look like to conform to very well-established 4chan cultural standards) with valid arguments to be made in either direction and everything in between.

Yet much of what was said seemed utterly unconcerned with those relevant points, even when they were mentioned, in favor of focusing on nonspecific, implicit accusations, and guilt-by-association bullshit. What the fuck does /asp/ have to do with ANY principled position on how /orc/ conducts itself on this issue? As far as I know, absolutely nothing. But then why is that the focus? If I had to guess, it's just to goad us into an into an angry, Us vs. Them mentality.

It felt a lot more to me like the typical gossiping crabs-in-a-bucket vtweeter behavior, not Randonites genuinely concerned about thread health.

I don't think anyone expects anyone to care about them. It's just a question of whether anons streaming OC creation adheres to 4chan's norms regarding artists. Personally, I think it probably does, since historically we've always given artists temporary identity privileges while working on OC, and while in threads designated for the process. This is sort of a mixed situation, but I don't see how it's very different, as long as they're not drawing excessive attention to themselves outside of appropriate contexts.
