The way I see it, Riifu couldn't really be groomed since she could have talked to other people like her genmates, management, literally anyone but people from 4chan. What they complained about was the chance of missing talent interaction because if the talent can just pop in and chat randomly then there would be FOMO. However, riifu popping up randomly in the secret chat holding secret watchalongs and puzzles was no longer an issue because she was focusing on /here/.

For the sake of clarity, I was one of the people complaining about FOMO, and I will admit that I'm still embarrassed about it. I did stop caring about it since I realized that I could literally just use discord and basically solve the problem. With that out of the way, I never made it out that Riiflings /here/ are somehow the "good guys." They did have the childish rules for thee not for me mindset after all. I just think that you're too harsh on them. There was so much that Riifu could have done to satisfy most people, even people /here/.
IIRC, there were three different reasons Riiflings disliked the discord. FOMO, discord is a "groomer," and the other reason that you referred to. Some Riiflings were able to make more reasonable arguments than others and with more nuance but I'm too lazy to write them down.
