The difficult thing to accept is that many people are unironically happier without freedom. The hard labor keeps them occupied, and the unending demands of their waifu gives them purpose to work. While everyone wants to be rich and retired, I've unironically seen countless wealthy and retired people lose meaning in life since there's nothing left to do or work towards. It sounds stupid, but once you've done it all, had every luxury, and completed your bucket list, existential dread and depression creep in. You actually see this a lot with old retirees who are sipping martinis on the beach in the Bahamas, yet it quickly becomes routine and sadly many don't live too long afterwards.
