The flaw everyone is ignoring is that the names aren't fucking funny at all, even if you get the joke. And a lot of them aren't even exclusive to the model they're attached to, something you can easily fuck around with to share representation with non-Holos. We're starting with the vtubers first and filling in meme names when we really need to start with the joke and best-fit the model. You should really just poll the threads and ask them if they get the names and whether they consider it part of their own repertoire, just to get some idea of who/what could also be associated with it.

I think the roster is still skewed too favorably in the direction of Hololive, yes. As I have already proved, they make up less than half of post activity on the board, and within this "non-corpo" designation alone there is a wealth of board culture and history and memes that goes far deeper than anyone batting for a corporation is willing to recognize. We should start with the memes first, then assign characters/models after. The problem is then:
-Do we have enough memes? A few universal ones like gosling, architect or hagposters vs uohposters come to mind, but not many.
-Then we run into the same problem when assigning models. Everyone will claim their group has the best representative (say, uoh player could be idol fuyo, holo gura, lig shondo, pcg remi, kiki etc) then back to number arguments and polls and shit.
So while it does going for memes does improve the team as a topic and for the 4cc in large, I don't see it feasible (lack of universal memes) and it needs additional solutions for it to work, just like now.

While there is precedent for manager removal. Believe it or not once upon a time former /s4s/ manager DescendingBear was actually sacked from the team. And for a time I felt it to be true with /sp/ for a while before JohnnyBravo and Falco came along. Removal procedure is something that I feel we do need to actually define heading into 2024 along with POI reforms. I have explained what happened what feels like 50 times now but I will do it again. WARNING long answer:
Me and the other manager saw for cup after cup people upset because things they wanted either weren't on the poll or because they felt they had no chance to make the team. when we both became managers me and the old manager disagreed on whether to significantly expand the amount of options on the poll. In the end the other manager agreed with me and after the old manager left we did just that. I also brought up trying to do a slot system. After a while I convinced him. We spent a lot of time trying to figure out a decent way of doing it, too long honestly. We decided to do it where there was a minimum of nonholos but any nonholo that made it normally wouldnt count towards the total. so if it was a minimum of 4 and 2 made it in top 23 we'd have 6 total. People didnt understand this when I tried explaining it to them and this cause confusion. Eventually certain sides got mad at not having enough reps, the slot system existing, and threads were shared in other threads and the poll threads became warzones. I had people on each side personally messaging me saying a lot of shit that shouldnt be said over internet divegrass.
While this was going on there was another issue, that was my fault. I had been so antsy to add as many things as possible I didnt think enough about what category theyd be in which is really important for a slot system and this caused a lot of issues with corner cases. Like "this is a meme but it's pretty holo oriented should this count for a slot?" all of this shit gave me a headache so I asked the other manager to tally up the poll results. He had to export the results in sheets since forms only show the top 99-100 answers and then tally them. The way he tallied the results resulted in some options showing like they had more votes than they shouldve, after this was noticed we decided to just say fuck it and abandon the slot system and go with the popular vote anyway.
In short it was a mess caused by the fact we are inexperienced at managing teams this big and we bit off more than we could chew. It was not rigged, it was retarded. People have been saying I've rigged it for every fucking group you can imagine they say ive rigged it for hololive, Ive rigged it for large nonholos, Ive rigged it for catalog bait, and Ive rigged it just for whatever I personnally like. Despite the fact the team I fucking manage in /vt/ League is a thread about microcorpos that arent even on the poll because theyre not relevant enough. It makes no sense.

Voting concluded. The roster was announced as one way and it was different from the one we ended up getting.

Which means the managers fucked with something and did some BCS formula nobody wanted and nobody asked for instead of just Top X vote getters make the squad. That is messed up.

Making a team out of the vtl is a terrible idea. It works for /vg/ since that board was literally created to host generals and is highly insular by design. This board may be infested with generals, but there's much more to it than that. The current system and managers certainly need to go, but using the vtl as the basis is not the way to go.

Just nix the use of individual chuubas as players entirely (excepting Nenechi, of course). Board memes, concepts, major vtubing events, heck maybe even companies. But no individual vtubers. Won't be a magical fix to our issues, but it'd certainly be a massive improvement.
(Many of the player models would likely be specific streamers who fit the character, but that's another thing entirely).

for all the people complaining about the hundreds of choices in the poll i wrote up a proposal last thread to deal with it in a way that would give more of a say to the masses that find their vote split by too many candidates. the manager responded but i got no criticism from anyone else so i'm posting it again:

TMA can't do anything about it. You can just use the same names on the /vt/ team and download the /vt/ league models from the wiki. He can ask the managers not to do it but they don't have to listen.
