I think she is going through depression. Something happened to her that really has her fucked. She's an entertainer, she's been doing it for long time. Maybe her dad died or she simply ran out of ideas/burnt out, because I heard from some big streamers mention when they feel they can't provide good entertainment, to meet their expectations, it causes them to not want to stream. They keep thinking if they wait it out, things will get better, but things don't because they are not actively addressing the issue or just being ok to not going all out on streams. I believe it was mentioned she said she had family issues or health issues at one point, but never elaborated on what they were, even though she said she would. Many have already said that this is the most likely cause. Her physical and mental health issues are a long standing problem and she doesn't even need some sort of tragedy to cause this. Often just the anxiety of feeling burnt out and unable to entertain audiences is enough to cause creators to withdraw into themselves and that causes the anxiety to worsen because the longer they're away the more worried they become of the audience turning on them for being away so long.

Gura herself has even mentioned she has her "ebbs" and "flows" when it comes to motivation. This has persisted for a very long time, going back to at least her PL days. For some reason Chumbuds always ignore that bit. Go to her Backrooms 1989 stream vod, about 10-15 minutes in she mentions that she started seeing apparitions in the corners of her eyes and hearing things that she knows couldn't be there like hearing a waterfall behind her in her kitchen while she was cooking once. Then she just brushes it off saying "oh don't worry I'm better now".
During the zatsu section at the end of the stream one superchat asked her how often these "apparitions" happened and she just says a lot and then brushes it off again with the "I'm better now". She later also mentions that the visual hallucinations caused her to stress out so she tried talking to them to calm herself down. She brought this up in relation to how the backrooms game uses your mic so she couldn't talk so much during the stream and she mentioned how that's her way of coping with fear and made it very difficult for her to play the game with voice detection on because the anxiety got really bad.

I remember saying she was depressed as early as 2020, and anons were calling me a retard for it, now look how the tables have turned. Nowadays the two theories of why she isn't streaming are either because she has physical and/or mental problems, or she doesn't care.
Now in all seriousness, she always struck me as a person that wasn't in the best state of mind to say the least, but maybe that's because I actually watched some of HER streams before she entered Hololive, in which she was (at least for me) clearly depressed, and maybe because I'm depressed too. I could put some examples of why she always struck me as a depressed person, like the way she talked, how she told stories from her past, and in overall, almost all of her streams gave me the vibe of a rather melancholic person, although I myself admit that this last statement is really vague, but that's the best way I can describe it.
