I haven't done my reps lately since busy with work but I've heard a lot of different things but no one gives the full quote.

For example, there's the popular story that Coco initially never planned to be a VTuber but management told her to become one. Similarly, Coco thought she wouldn't stay too long as VTuber and was going to graduate at some point anyway. And that she doesn't really enjoy streaming that much.

To be honest, while I think the antis played a huge role in the whole Coco graduation situation, I'm starting to really think that she's graduating for the reasons she says she is: creative differences. Or to put it another way: Do you really think Coco who endured all the antis and whatnot is so weak to give in to them at the end? It's kinda insulting to her. As well, all the other HoloMems after talking to Coco were able to come to terms with it. Do you think THEY would let her graduate because of antis? We've seen how they band together with Coco.

I've come to terms with Coco's graduation. We'll probably never know the real actual story and everything will be cobbled together rrats. So my personal rrat is that Coco thought to herself one day that while maybe she's happy with her friends in HoloLive, it's not the future for her. I think it's pretty simple. Coco wanted to continue creating something like Asacoco. Cover wanted to reach to mainstream Western market, becoming more unironically seiso and in general moving away from that kind of content popular in early vtubing era. She didn't bother to resolve this conflict because (1) she can't and doesn't want to adjust to that sort of direction and (2) she doesn't think of vtubing as a big deal anyway. I think it's definitely the former. If you believe A-chan's HoloTalk and that it isn't just keyfabe, it seems like Yagoo didn't plan for Cover to be a VTuber company at the start and essentially fell into it with the success of Sora. Cover is a small tech company with no experience in talent management and suddenly found themselves pioneering the explosive growth of a new industry (OK yes technically Ai came first but we all saw how that crashed and burned).

Of course, this doesn't excuse Cover's incompetence at all. They made serious mistakes trying to apply traditional, ineffective to downright toxic management techniques from other industries into an unprecedented one. But I don't think Cover is malicious. If they were, they wouldn't have graduated an entire branch. And it would be insulting to Coco's friends and other HoloMems to think they are so meek as to still stay in HoloLive knowing that Coco was sabotaged and maliciously forced out.
