My biggest advice to streamers is to not get into it for validation, its even worse than doing it for money.
Absolutely nothing good will come from it, your streams will be worse and you'll feel extremely, overwhelmingly insecure from the dumbest things (antis, not getting as many views as last stream, etc.)
Find another avenue for validation and self-confidence, do streaming on the side for fun.

The first big change I’ve implemented is a filter to make the colours more vivid and saturated. The second change is more movement in the clip. The third change is in the music, which I have never used for a short before. I think it is contradictory to the response. The algorithms seem to be predictable to some degree. I don’t have experience with vods and separate channels, but I do know that YouTube hates it when I upload videos in different categories. I get fewer views over a shorter period of time. Don’t have the data, but I would hypothesize that YouTube shows your content selectively to people that have already seen prior videos and watched/engaged with them. That is fundamentally what the algorithms are designed to do, right?
So think about that logically. Are a bunch of Shorts watchers going to engage the same way with long form content? Unlikely. Are those searching for game videos going to watch poetry reading? Equally unlikely.
Narrowing things down is probably the better approach, as uploading videos outside of expected content will lead to poorer engagement metrics (e.g., if I upload a long form video with mostly shorts-based subscribers, then YouTube will selectively recommend my long form videos to Shorts watchers; these Shorts watchers won’t engage, thus harming my metrics more completely).
My advice? Try not to deviate from the same category (e.g., gaming) on one channel at the very least. Further, it may be better to not upload different lengths of content too much (e.g., shorts/clips and long form); this seems less practical for aspies without established audiences, though.
