I think it's a few reasons.

First is of course the market. It's fucking oversaturated, we can all agree on that. You can't just have the generic vtuber skills you could have back in 20/21 and succeed. You need to stand out with something. Skye doesn't have that, as sad as it is to say. She can sing and draw, sure. So can 5000 others. She goes on rants and has a pleasant voice. Again, at least 5k others that can do the same. She does not stand out in the crowd whatsoever.

2nd would be her own advertisement of herself, or lack thereof. I did a quick sweep through her vods and she has a total of one(1) outside collab, the club51 one with Erika. In what, half a year? Sure there could be others that are on other channels, but that is still an extremely low number.
Lowview corpos/indies live or die on their networking ability/advertisements in this day and age.
Skye has none of the former and Eri can provide little of the latter, specially with resources going towards gen 2 now.

And last but not least is, unironically, her 1 month break. She wasn't pulling any kind of numbers before, but after it she dropped into complete irrelevance in terms of the algo, and it will keep her from attaining any meaningful growth for the foreseeable future, if not all the way up to her eventual graduation.

Skye went from trying a bunch of stuff at once to try and get numbers to not trying at all and being happy entertaining the few skyelights that are always posting in chat doing whatever she wants. She doesn't want to play other games to make her scedule look better for new people or someone who doesn't like AC, she wants to play Armored Core and laugh at mech puns untill she stream ends. She's more comfy with sexual stuff now so instead of being scared someone will call her hot or ask about steph, she plays up the sex jokes herself and bluhes when someone turns it to her for a second because she "knows" they arent just using her for that. Skye changed her hours back to normal to have more time to get ready for stream but almost every stream she's late, unprepared, or moves chat to the loading screen of the same 3 ad's we've seen for months now. Why? No regular will call her out and no one chatting will bother because skye leaving in the middle of a stream while puting yesterday's stream on in the backgound is a given at this point. She did take a list down for ideas on knew commercials but its still a band-aid on a growing problem of not streaming in the middle of stream. I think if next weeks scedule isnt something fresh like SkyeStaion, drawing/rigging on her older projects from before break, or hell any game other than AC I will not feel unjustified saying Skye's break made her lazy.

I was more talking about her recent poor planning than the commercials or leaving being a bad thing itself but yeah I made a few mistakes that post. IIRC the stream where she asked for more commercial ideas was the same one Skye started stream with ads because she was still cooking and it ran on long enough for her to just put on the AC watchalong stream which is what we watched when she came back because she was still eating and expecting a delivery. Because of that gameplay didn't start for an hour and thirty minutes and by the time she did her usual break mid stream, Skylights had seen like 20 minutes of the same 3 ads and maybe an hour of an AC 3 watchalong which prompted her to apologize and ask for suggestions for new commercials to add since we see them so much now. Where my frustration came in is her saying before that she was going back her old time so she could "eat before stream and have more time to get ready" and then things like this happen anyways. Not my main problem for sure, I just wanted to explain myself a bit since its a part of why I think she's gotten lazy which I'm sure is a lot less stressful for her now that she doesn't need to try as hard, but has made things different overall.
