I almost left it entirely when all of Myth started taking back to back vacations in mid 2021. But then I looked into the indie and small corpo scene and haven't looked back on holo since.
Had way more fun with vtubers in the last two years than two years before then, and I've even started doing my JP reps for JP indies.

Every 3 or 4 months I get somewhat of a burnout on vtubers, usually just shaking up a bit the list of people I watch is enough to enjoy things again.

ill never hate on 2views or 1views. the over saturation of vtubers, 10,000+ vtubing channels, worldwide fans. these were all what everyone wished for during kizuna ai's time. its still a miracle its gotten this far.

Just change your oshi. Rushia was great, I had watched her streams many times too but get over it.
I main several vtubers in holo jp and often watch niji jp and indies as well. Having only one oshi is actually pretty "risky". So just change your way of enjoying vtubers.

I know it's wrong but I only enjoy watching 2views. I like being able to talk with the streamer, and if chat is going by so fast that I can't then I just lose interest.

I'd say my level of enjoyment has been constant aince 2019.
2020 was quite a year where every week was dramatic, that was a unique rush that is now lost.
Some vtubers also were nerfed, pre permissions korone was a unique thing we will never see anymore, for example.

I don't hate 2views, if they are doing that because they like and not because they are random whores who are too ugly to do real 3D horny stuff, but the problem(at least here)is that their fans think they found out Leonardo da Vinci in the middle of the trash can and brag about it and say everyone else is a npc that only consumes what's popular

I came across vtubers after burning out with anime and manga. After getting familiar with the space I don't feel as interested although the introduction of new generations always grabs my attention like with Advent recently.
But I guess it's like with slot machines, once you play a couple you realise that it's the same RNG software skeleton on the inside and they all work in a similar fashion at the end of the day. Just rehashed skins and superficially different. There are only so many games to play, so many topics to zatsu, the songs sound the same after a while, the same jokes, etc. And to be frank, no vtuber is particularly talented or special at anything they do so once you get a bit tired of the anime avatar the magic starts to disappear...
I don't have anything else to go to so I still watch, purely because anime is the only art form I can appreciate and I don't like watching 3D humans

I don't know how to explain it, but Hololive is almost too professional now. I look back at Miko's 2019 GTA streams and it was such a perfect mix of jankiness. Her model that made her look like she was falling asleep, her having low energy and talking way less, etc. It was comfier.
I can still get that feeling from Moona. I opened her Cyberpunk stream recently and was treated to a minute of silence, followed by munching sounds and her talking with her mouth full, and I loved it.
In contrast, Advent seem so... targeted? They came very prepared, with a plan to boost their careers as much as possible, which is understandable, its a business after all. Its just not... comfy?idk

It's not an obligation. Just watch what you want. Taking breaks is good

Magic was gone since last year

Chinese incident, all out war, talent freedom, hogwarts incident, rushia incident and aloe incident made me too cynical, I can no longer enjoy vtubing like 2019-2020 anymore, where you could always find a joy discovering a lot of vtubers through clips every day
