After much discussion with the my fellow Lamy's, we've finally decided on a general plot we would all like for our first Lamy Transformation doujinshi.
So, without further ado, the Lamy collective is requesting a story about Lamy meeting with a lucky and optimistic viewer, excited to meet his oshi. Lamy slips something in his drink and drugs him so she can experiment with him and brainwash him into becoming Lamy. The story peaks with the revelation that there a plethora of Lamys. It would also be nice to have it end the way it started, with the viewer now being another Lamy seducing another young and optimistic viewer.
The plan for the story is to make it into a roughly 20 page NSFW doujinshi, so lewd scenes are a must, and a short-ish (but not too short!) story would be preferred. Thanks for your consideration!

Loli Polka story. I may end up releasing it in two chapters, I'm already bordering 20 pages and nowhere close to the sex scene(s?) or the conclusion I want to the story. Does anyone have advice on writing combat scenarios, more specifically sword duels?

I'm working on an Ayame prompt based on the previous thread. My idea is that your clan and Ayame's clan want to settle a rivalry through an arranged marriage. However, the marriage is a ploy to overtake the opposing family because in your tradition, the bride and groom must face each other in a duel. Whoever wins the duel becomes the head of the clan, assimilating the other family under the winner's name, so you and Ayame are dueling each other to see who becomes the head of the family.

Personally, I wouldn't focus on sword fights in these chuuba fics. They're pretty difficult to pull off in writing, because a real sword fight is mostly about being unpredictable. You've got parrys, deflects, feints, thrusts, slashes, side steps etc. You could limit the technique to just slashes, thrusts, blocks and dodges, but then your combat may end up looking something like:

He slashes at her, but she dodges it. She retaliated with a thrust, and he barely managed to block it. When he counterattacks this time, his sword lands true and gashes her shoulder.

So I just tend to prefer using magic spells and stuff that's easier to follow, if a swordfight isn't neccesary. You can also get collateral damage with those, like when someone tosses a fireball and it splashes onto a nearby house. Which allows you to write a sentence about the house getting set on fire, or something like that. So maybe with Ayame you could mix in magic with a simple sword fight.

Sword duels are almost brutally simplistic in that a realistic one doesn't have anything super flashy. Though sword fights will also involve things like fist fighting too. For example if you and the enemy are close enough in range to grab one another either one will obviously try for the grab. There will also be punching, kicking etc. Parts of the sword will even be used at time for blunt damage, such as smacking the enemy with the pommel. Also most of the time dodging isn't very realistic either since the tip of a sword can accelerate and change direction much more easily than a human body can. Then there's the whole issue of "sword guards"/"stances". The basics of that being: sword held low = more maneuverability. Sword held middle and a little forward = balanced/defensive. And finally sword held high = very powerful swings. That's just the basics though. If you want to see what a really realistic sword fight would look like, look up the video "Adorea longsword fight duel". It's a really well choreographed and realistic duel.

Be extra descriptive. The breathing, the movements, the sweat dripping, the shift in weight on footing. Depending on the type of sword fight, then the entertainment is in the tension, the release is the strike. Or perhaps it's an overt show of skill of one over the other, or a declaration thereof.

As advised by the other anons, the thing about sword fights is that you need to be descriptive of things pertaining the sword fight itself so that it doesn't appear too simplistic. However, you also need to balance it as over descriptiveness just makes it a drawn out battle with no real progress. It's a bit difficult, but with enough practice/reference I'm sure you'll get there. Let's take for example the sample passage of >>5648685, allow me to give my version of it:

You take the initiative and thrust your sword as an opening strike. Ayame sidesteps your thrust gracefully, and with a spring in her step delivers her counter strike. A powerful overhead slash comes down upon you, but your muscle memory kicks in as you hold your blade horizontally in a guard, both hands supporting your sword to meet the blow. It was indeed a devastating blow, as even through your guard the force of it makes your knees buckle. Ayame tries to bounce back to safety but you don't allow her the opportunity. You close the distance between you two and deliver an upward slash. You see her trying to angle her sword to block it, but your blade strikes true, the red of her blood now coating the tip your blade as it cuts through her shoulder.
"Not bad," she congratulates you as she licks the wound.
"Tch, not deep enough." You reprimand yourself.

This is just how I would write a scene, but of course there's plenty of other variables and applications. Good luck writing!

the main thing I do is basically workshop the general idea of the story in my head. Once I'm satisfied I write down a preliminary list of the plotpoints/what i want to happen in the story which will be used for reference. After that it becomes more of filling in the blanks and being flexible of what to add/remove to my liking. Also, G docs anon. save yourself the trouble.

Well I suppose that's where the flexibility of your writing would have to come in. My list is almost always more of a guideline than a flowchart. For me, as long as I fulfill the beginning and the end without straying off the more important plot points, then I would say I did a good job. The real drag is filling in the meat and bones so that the plot feels like it has natural progression rather than abrupt incidents happening together. You'll have to learn that skill in time.

I only started writing (for entertainment) when I found these threads, but I had experience writing in a dry business report sort of way, which didn't help other than to train me in how -not- to write for entertainment, although you still need to keep the reader's interest (even though they would have to read your reports for the sake of their own job).

TL; DR: Watch well written or acted movies. Tarantino is amazing at dialogue so pay attention to that, but if there's amazing actors (Daniel Day Lewis for me) then learn to describe their scenes and notice their subtleties.

the list I use is more of a guideline rather than a flowchart, so don't worry about going off track. As long as you fulfill the story's beginning and ending, and maintain the core plot points, you should still be good. I disagree heavily with your perception of what constitutes a high quality fapfic.
